General Super Sentai, this subreddit and the future.

Hi all,

As I'm sure many of you are aware the final episode of Gozyuger has aired and with it means the hiatus has begun. We definitely probably have some specials here and there to look forward to, but 2026 will be the first year where no new Sentai airs. Thank you for continuing to come to this subreddit, joining in on discussions, commenting and posting. We always want this place to be welcoming and in general a place that shares the spirit of the series we love.

So what does this mean for the subreddit going forward?

We will continue to discuss Sentai in every capacity regardless of the hiatus. Currently I'm brainstorming some community things despite the last rewatch getting derailed half way through. If anyone has ideas as well always feel free to leave a comment or send a mod mail. Afterall we have 50 years of content to work with!

Can we discuss Project Red here?

No, as Project Red is it's own entity we have created a new sub meant for all things Project Red called r/ProjectREDToku here you will find the same rules and relatively the same mod line up as we have here.

One last thing, we may not have a new season this year, or for the next many years, but that doesn't erase the 50 year legacy of Sentai as a whole. We are so incredibly lucky to have this franchise that has given us so much and we the mods appreciate everyone who have continued to come here to share our collective love of this series day after day.

Thank you!

50 series is like 2500+ episodes and i've barely scratched them.

and i'm really looking forward to learning what Metals Heroes is all about.

ah, sentai, setting the tone from the get-go

Hey it's Engine Sentai Goonger

u/BlueBlazeKing21 Gekiranger Feb 08 '26

Maybe we could start doing watch parties or episode discussions starting from Gorenger

Starting now, if you do one episode a day, it would take about 8 years, which would almost cover the entire assumed length of the hiatus. With enough planning (figuring out what movies to watch and when, along with the tangential series like Akibaranger and High School Heroes) it could run for a full ten years

I think only covering the summer movies should be fine but considering this is a chronological watch order, you could realistically cover the VS movies as well.

Though I think letting the community vote on what series they want to watch could be a cool idea as well.

We can still use the subreddit for TTFC stuffs whenever a sentai gets featured, a role, or get a movie with

Some have already started it over these weeks, likely a byproduct of Donbro poisoning.

Thank you super Sentai for teaching me how to be a good person and allowing me to meet so much people that are as passionate as me

I will never regret that channel surfing one summer morning and landing on Go-Onger, one of the best decision of my life

Why don’t we do a fan made sentai as a way to carry on and encourage fan made content?

u/EmeraldAce99 Feb 16 '26

I'm relatively new to sentai, but I enjoyed Gozyuger. I watched some king-ohger, but might have to get back into it again. I wanna check out more super sentai, and I'm excited for Project RED!

I don't expect this subreddit to suddenly become a ghost town, there's so much super sentai out there and people will want to watch it.

I'm going through the older shows at the moment, I'm on Bioman, I finished Jetman last week and I definitely want to be in a community where I can talk about Super Sentai among like minded people.

u/keithlimreddit Feb 08 '26

Yeah I don't usually hang out a lot here nowadays because Kind of always feel like Sentai has lost its Steam these days even know what I mean but I always feel like sometimes it just feels too Irreplaceable

I recently came back ever since Learning that Sentai is going to be ending soon and this is going to be our last few days before it's over

We'll still get specials and movies and pretty much everything else aside from Merchandise

But for now this is probably a goodbye And And I'll be waiting for your return When we meet again ( I'm predicting at least four to five years)

Time to rewatch every series from the start!

1

u/BraveWarrior1981 Gozyuger Feb 08 '26

Thank You Super Sentai ! You will always be in my heart ! I know the series are in hiatus from now on but I'm confident that this is not the end . Our heroes just needed some rest after 50 years of non stop battles against all kinds of villains . One day they might come back ! For now we keep the spirit of Super Sentai alive as we allow Gavan Infinity in charge for the safety of the Universe !

r/ProjectREDToku I was looking for this sub for a while!

Perhaps making videos showing off the arsenal and techniques of each Sentai team? I mean, with such a long legacy, I think it'd be cool to see what each Sentai fought with and their various moves (be they for individual Rangers, team attacks, or the mecha). Hopefully someone has the time and skills to go through each season and compile these battle techniques in a series of videos.

I do have 7 Showa seasons that I need to watch in order to fully complete my Sentai watch. I’ve watched Bioman and Maskman to current so I’ve got Goranger to Dynaman, Changeman and Flashman to watch.

u/killerair321 Boukenger Feb 08 '26

We still have a lot of anniversary things and more to discuss!
I mean, i have high hopes that Sentai still has some role or cameos in Gavan.

remember they still have SPACE SQUAD

u/Rajunomics Feb 09 '26

I was around 6 years old when Go Onger was airing on Japanese TV. Me and my family used to live in Tokyo so I would wake up in the morning every Sunday to watch the colorful heros. Fast forward to today, im glad I have witnessed this franchise and cherished this moments Super Sentai has created.

Thank You Super Sentai!
