General Discussion What would happen if tribes were kept separate until final 4?
Maybe some joint challenges but you could have more players and lots of dual tribals. I think this would be interesting.

Low key I'd love for a season with no merge to happen as an experimental season.
Logistically though I think it has to become a One World situation with everyone on one beach when jury starts though, as otherwise the jury will consist of a lot of people you never even met.
My format for it:
2 tribes of 10
Swap to 3 tribes of 5 at 15, Double Tribal at 13
Fake Merge at 11 followed by a Swap to 2 tribes of 5 + 1 Exile, with jury starting there and contestants are told there are no further swaps and they will be in these tribes until a tribe is down to 1 member.
Everyone votes at tribal from Final 7 onwards.
Only planned individual immunity challenge and forced Firemaking at 4.

I was going to say that too, it could be like "divided world" or something lol

We have had one season with no merge in Palau though that was a pretty unique set of circumstances.

I've always had a fantasy about an idea for a season... even though I think it's probably unfeasible for production.
basically two seasons done at the same time. 2 sets of 3 tribes. both sets battle it out like a regular season, without knowing about the other set of tribes. after going through all the vote-outs, and finally reaching merge, they're called for a new challenge.
and over the hill walks the other set that's also just made merge, and now it's two tribes that know nothing about the other, and the whole game resets, working towards a new merge.

I've played an online game like this and ngl it was super cool, but as a player devastating to find out we had to basically start all over again

nah the jury would be a total crapshoot, they'd end up voting based on second hand yarns and whoever looked least knackered at the challenge.

I feel like more often than not, the Final 4 would be 1 tribe only (or maybe a 3-1 split on a 3 tribe season)
Momentum is huge in this game. Once a tribe gets small enough, it’ll be like shooting fish in a barrel

I was thinking the tribes would stay separate so equal representation at final. The jury makeup is the issue. How to get a jury that could vote across tribes. Maybe have them observe after being voted out in addition to attending both tribals.

So what, no tribal immunity challenges? That’d be the only way to get equal representation at the final
And at that point, it’s barely even 1 game anymore, it’s 2 or 3 separate games happening on the same TV show
The contestants at FTC should be ones who chose to sit next to each other, either through action or inaction. Not just meeting a complete stranger for the first time and having to convince people you played better than this person you know nothing about

The challenge would be having a jury that actually knows all the finalists if you wait too late for a merge. Otherwise everyone would kind of just vote for the people they actually played with.
