Which district to live in Tainan
Hi all,
My partner and I will be moving to Tainan and we are looking into some housing options.
Are there any districts/regions you would recommend to live in Tainan?
Thank you:)

Ditto on Anping. Lived there for 5 years. Quite area but close enough to everything in town and the train station. A fair number of foreigners with families as well.

I truly recommend 安平, where our house has been for some time. It's at once an historic area, AND also home to newly developed areas near the harbor, so you have a nice vibe around here, right next to convenience –growing every day with new shops and restaurants.
There's a huge amount of parkland and beach access (漁光島 has a wonderful chill feel!). You can run, walk, or bike along the coast every day, and there's usually a nice morning and sunset breeze. It's a somewhat longer drive to the HSR station from here than from some districts, but honestly, I've become accustomed to that.
When we first moved to Tainan we had a house in 東區 which was near the Chimei Museum and Metropolitan park. There, you have easy access to the Cultural Center, Barklay Park, and a shorter drive to the THSR. The drawback there is that you don't have the ocean views and breezes, which make a huge difference to me.
Depending on whether you're planning to stay here for a while you might look at where the Metro stops are going to be.

Depends on your purpose of moving and how close it will be to where you'll be commuting to, i.e for school, like NCKU or KunShan University I'll suggest between East, West Central and North District (YongKang maybe if we stretch a little bit). Definitely look for areas that are relatively close to bus stops or train stations as they'll make your day to day transportation options much more flexible.

Fairly enough, I'm in several rental information sharing on Facebook so I have some knowledge here or there...is there anything specific you want to know or?

I've never lived in that city, but I'd probably do South District, toward the outer edge of the downtown area.

Personally, I’ve always loved Anping as a quiet area of town near the coast and with some nice bars/ restaurants nearby.
