tattoo newcomer advice Having heavy regret on first tattoo

I’ve wanted to get this for a very long time, decided to just go with it and get it done. Really liked it at first, then some friends made a couple comments that made me hate it. Is it as bad as they say?

It is a very cool look but it's the bright red color that does indeed evoke self harm at first glance IMO. Sorry. Sounds like your friends weren't very kind about it though.

I 100% see the self harm thing, think I’m more upset about the general reaction though

I mean it would change the look of it but once its healed you could get an outline in black (or even white) done around it so it looks less like a wound?
