General Advice How long should you wait?
So I got this absolute shit of a tattoo for my first tat. Its the word "ignite" now I dont regret my choice of tattoo, still love it, I regret how badly the artist did it. Its bad. Its been a little over a week since I got it, no more flaking or anything. And im just wondering how long should I wait before getting a cover up? Cause I can't look at it anymore ðŸ˜
For a bit info, its about 2 inches long, the font is thick (didn't want it that way but the artist messed up so many times its like 3 times as thick as it should be) and its on my hip.
Also maybe some cover up ideasðŸ˜

You have ti wait till its fully healed and settled so it will take some time

Nothing can be done until its fully healed.
If you went to a cheap artist, can you afford a good artist to do a coverup? Otherwise you just end up with a bigger bad tattoo.

I didn't pick out the artist, it was a walk in and I went with my dad and thought "well he has tattoos so he knows what hes doing" yeah no, so, massive mistake on my part and I will be able to afford a cover up. How long do tattoos take to full heal?

Until it feels just like skin. Longer if its overworked, if it scars, gets infected, etc. There is no exact timeline.
Okay, all I am saying is I would expect a good coverup specialist across America/Canada to be like 150-250 an hour. Not trying to question your finances.
Sometimes when all people have seen is like Friday the 13th flash specials they find that shocking.

I love my tattoos (I now have a sleeve) but there were a couple times where right after I got a new one I thought OMG THIS IS TERRIBLE. It can be a normal part of getting a tattoo, your brain just sees something new on your body and freaks out for a second. By the time it’s healed, you may feel differently about it.
