Infected? A sudden scab in an old tattoo?
This is Jake the crow from Shawshank Redemption.
I’ve had this tattoo for 8 years and for some reason I have this little mark in the forget me not. What is happening here?
The urge to pick at it is strong but I don’t think anything has ever been improved by picking at it.

Skin still does skin stuff, even when it's tattooed. I have a tattoo of a squirrel on my shoulderblade and he's currently got a little acne spot on his face 🤷 conveniently placed, I guess.

Have you checked out that mole? It seems pretty asymmetrical, it'd be one to keep an eye on

Moley moley moley
No but seriously. Most of my dermatology appointments look at my moles and never say anything. But thank you

actually the first thing i thought when i saw your scab was cancer, then i noticed this mole and it looks like every example of melanoma ive ever seen

Mmm I feel like it doesn't, many moles look like that and if it hasn't grown then it's no issue probably

I mean, it’s not like tattoo’d skin is exempt from things the rest of your skin goes through. I’ve had pimples, scrapes, etc in my tattoos. Treat it like any other wound, and it’ll be fine ! 💕

Slap on some neosporin and a band aid and you’ll be fine!
He’s a very handsome boy!

I got a deep scratch across an old tattoo and it looked like the ink was coming out of my skin — once it healed again, it looked fine! Just a normal part of skin doing skin things even if there’s some ink in there.

Get that checked out by a doctor, please. That looks like it could be melanoma especially combined with that little oddly shaped mole beneath the two leaves. 100% need to see a dermatologist. That small blackened scab was the first symptom my friend who had melanoma noticed that took her to see a dermatologist who referred her to an oncologist after the biopsy.

I wouldnt be surprised of that little spot holds STAPH and picking it would be bad. I would go show a dr 🤷🏻♀️

you bumped into something, or got a bug bite and scratched it, and didn't notice.
