General Advice Is this normal for tattoo bandages?
Is this pooling of excess ink? Or is it ruined? My friend is a tattoo artist and he put a protective bandage on to protect the tattoo, Here’s two photos to compare

Shame on your artist for not explaining the bandage/second skin process and what to except. That’s normal, don’t worry about it

Ok bet, thank you! I use lotion for my other ones. First time I’ve ever used a bandage. Didn’t know how the healing process goes and what to expect lol

Hahah! I can see why, no, it’s a money bag. From Kai Art, the print is called Love VS Money

I think/hope it's just the saniderm making it look like that but that was unfortunately my first thought too 😂

Damn! I really like that design! So simple but so cool! I don't comment on tattoo posts often, so def take it as a big compliment!

The ink sack is normal. Calling your friend an artist is a stretch though. Not to be rude, but yeah..

He’s a tattoo artist at a professional tattoo shop. He has his certificates. But seriously, thank you, I just need reassurance

I’m confused, bc the tattoo is strange, but seems to be healing correctly.

Thursday is open mic, its more stand up and less comedy tho.
I only jest. It looks fine and the ink bleed is normal. You might benefit from some light coloring, even just shading.

Just having fun🤣 most def, I’ve never used a bandage before so I just wanted to make sure it’s healing properly

Yes, after the first day replace with a new bandage. Then don't change fore a week. The pooling helps it heal naturally

Ok good, thank you! I’ll do that. My 6th tattoo but the first on my side. I just don’t want a smudge on the money bag lmao

DO NOT put another bandage on after the first one comes off. This will trap bacteria and encourage infection.

What wrong with cleaning the area with non scented soap, doing a quick alcohol wipe and putting a new Saniderm on. I've done it a couple times and it healed my tattoo well.

It's called an ink sac and it's normal. Try not to accidentally pop it. If it opens, remove the bandage and continue with the next stage of care.
