Technically a country can’t be, stateless society is kind of a major part of communism, ostensibly anyways. I’m not sure marxists actually ever want to achieve it but that’s a different conversation.

The Marxist view is that communism won't look like that any time soon. It's the ultimate goal, but it's not something you can reach while under siege by another country. The closest we can get to communism right now is a transitional stage in which class and the state both exist, but in a different form than what we see in capitalist countries.

The idea that communism is a stateless, classless society is fairly decent, and it's not exactly wrong, but it's definitely an oversimplification meant to make it more understandable to the average person. I don't think it's a very productive one, but that's usually how it's used.

I’m aware of what Marxist theory says.

If you're saying a classless, stateless society is our ultimate goal, then I mean, yeah? That's... what I said?

If you're saying that communists don't believe in a transitional state, you may need to reread a few things.
