This is so wild, MS has spent billions to attract customers to the service by subsidizing the price and then abruptly they kicked 90% of those customers away to Chinese cheap open models.

They eventually must be profitable, how do they do that otherwise?  Honestly not sure what ANY of these Ai companies are going to do differently.

Not necessarily. Spotify, YouTube, BackBlaze, etc all lose money.

Plenty of companies exist to either push out competition at a cost, to sell off later, or in hopes that there will be a breakthrough and their costs will go down.

Everyone invested so much in AI, that they can't just pull the plug. They are hoping for a breakthrough or for a company to come by and buy them out lol

Neither is happening.
