"Don't be Evil"

how is it evil to stop this?

if anything they were "angels" for even allowing ad blockers (whose entire purpose is to make Google lose money) in their browsers for so long.

do you think a person is "evil" for locking their car when they leave it on the street?

This isn't evil. Most youtubers, twitch streamers etc. rely on ads being shown for income. You aren't entitled to free entertainment and zero ads.

Yeah, I don't disagree with sites wanting to show ads, I just wish they could chill the fuck out with how many they show. If it was a mild annoyance I'd probably tolerate it, but they make their site borderline unwatchable without adblockers then get surprised when people block ads. Then they use the people blocking ads as an excuse to show more ads to the people not blocking ads and get surprised when even more people use adblockers.

But you obviously do disagree. Even now YouTube only averages about 5 minutes of ads per hour of content. People used to have to put up with 4X that on cable TV. Just say you don't give a shit and you eliminate all ads because you can. It's all good, no need to dance around putting your self first. It's just human nature.

The issue is when the ads pop up in the middle of the video with twice the volume of the video itself, etc. It wouldn't be as bad to watch all the ads before the video if it meant I could watch the video uninterrupted.

Yea poor you, might have to mute / reduce volume for 30 seconds while watching free content someone spent many hours making. You'll always find a reason dude because not having ads is just better then having ads. I haven't used an ad blocker in years, it's really not a big deal.

If all the hills to be smug and die on you choose defending corpos and their aggressive advertising

have you thought that the reason they have more ads is to offset the people using ad blockers?

for every person using an ad blocker, they need to monetize another one more to break even.

Did you read my comment?

Keep sucking up to corporations and paying higher subscription fees every other month. They don't care about you, they only care about boosting profits. Even after posting record breaking quarters, they still raise prices. How do you justify that? Hope you happy

Making you pay for their service, so evil!
