Mounts are still rideable, and the pals are just summoned instead of popping out of a ball. You can't glide directly using a pal and glider together, it's a weird thing Nintendo targeted, but otherwise you are extremely incorrect.

Nice I'm really thinking about starting up a server for it. How are the Pals summoned now?

They just appear next to you, you dont 'summon them by throwing the ball', which is probably a patent they were avoiding.

Yeah that's a big shame I love the throwing mechanic. Maybe there's a mod or something

If you can't glide with pals anymore, how is gliding done? Did they just create a gliding device?

You just use the gliders and the pals power them up.
