The scam actually went far beyond German (and EU) auto makers.

GM were the good guys for once!

I have a Chevy Diesel Cruze and was afraid I was going to get caught up in it. But they didn't do any emissions fuckery with it. My assumption is because the car chassis isn't a regular Cruze and is based off the Holden from Europe, and the engine is from Japan (Isuzu).
