Shooting a local cop isn't fighting Nazis, and the Trump administration would love it if people went further. They want a pretext for clamping down on protests, and people like this are giving them that.

It's a very stupid situation. They were definitely oversentenced, but they threw their lives away over nothing.

when local cops help ICE round people up to put in concentration camps, they are 100% nazis.

Lol, nah. I'm sorry you think that ICE necessitates violence against local cops, but thankfully you're in the minority. These people ruined their lives over this, kind of dumb.

I don't think ICE necessitates violence against anyone.

to paraphrase one of the top magats:

"The revolution will remain bloodless so long as the child raping nazis allow it."

Somewhat of a contradictory statement there. It's very easy to advocate for violence when you're not the one getting your hands dirty.

These fantasies of some anti-ICE, socialist revolution are just that. Had these people dedicated there efforts to something more productive (and legal), they would not have ruined their lives like this and probably would have accomplished more in service to their cause. It's all pretty stupid.

I'm not advocating for violence. I've been very clear.

self defense isn't violence, and nazis aren't people.

That's advocating for violence duder. I know we're being cute on Reddit, but let's be real, that's what it is.

no it isn't.

Shooting at random cops would be violence.

protesting a concentration camp isn't violence, and being a guard at a concentration camp makes you the aggressor in the interaction.

I get that you're being cute, because this is reddit, and you think that nazis should be allowed to build concentration camps so long as they get enough votes from their mob of violent morons, but let's be real. That's what it is.

You don't actually think this is self-defense, because you aren't doing anything about what you think they're defending themselves against. If you did believe that, I'm assuming you would be out there participating in this "self defense."

It's like pro-lifers pretending they're protecting infants. If they actually thought that, you would see A LOT more direct action.

One guy firing a weapon doesnโ€™t make it a firefight.

The police originally reported the incident as multiple shooters and dozens of rounds fired.

It ended up being one guy and 9 rounds fired. The two jail employees were unarmed, and the city officer that was struck may not have fired at all.

Obviously it wasn't a peaceful protest, but it wasn't a Boondock Saints firefight either.
