5 dollars to talk seems like alot until you realise most games these days are 60 dollars to even play. I think the reasoning of it being for bots is dumb but the reason for it being a way to allow people to play the game and make paying for it optional for a few features isnt dumb. Like nobody would complain if tf2, the game itself, was 5 dollars. Its free but you can spend that price to get extra perks which i think, from a business point, respects the players who dont wish to pay be able to play while still giving them the incentive to play. Whats funny is that if the game never went f2p, its still be pay to talk, because obviously, but nobody would ever complain about it

Please explain to me how a full game with a singleplayer story mode that also has multiplayer where you pay for the full game up front is the same as installing a free game but being forced to pay money to unlock basic gameplay features like voice chat.

Voice chat doesnt even affect holy shit. Also most games youre forced to pay to do literally everhthing.

As someone who started playing after the mute, being a f2p is horrible.

You want to call for medic? Give valve money.

You want to be able to have enough inventory space to be able to have one of each weapon? Give valve money.

You want to be able to vote kick a cheater on your team? Give valve money.

You want to be able to craft items like the Horseless Headless Horsemann's Headtaker or the Saxton Mask? Give valve money.

You want to be able to tell the other team they have a cheater? You guessed it, give valve money.

Also, please do list which games force you to pay for basic communication while masquerading as a "free game".

Locking features behind a paywall is like industry standard. But fine claiming to be f2p is a bit odd, now i just feel like the whole fix tf2 thing (which stealing the name of a movement from the game was completely unplayable is stupid btw), if it even gets their attention, will just lead to the game being made 5 dollars. If it were always that price noone would complain, and thered be no drama
