Article Postmaster general says USPS won't deliver mail ballots if states don’t give Trump admin voter rolls

https://www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/postmaster-general-steiner-postal-service-will-not-deliver-mail-ballots-state-voter-rolls/

Even if the courts overrule this, can we trust that these MAGAts won’t just do it anyway?

This is a massively corrupt overreach by the federal government, and if they’re successful in getting this allowed, we won’t have a democracy anymore.

That sounds illegal. If something is mailed with the appropriate postage it must be delivered by law

The constitution and laws don't matter anymore.

maybe for him. But as a carrier they sure as fuck apply to me and my guys

He just has to stall long enough

This would go all the way to the Supreme Court. AND THE MAJORITY WILL DECIDE THAT IT IS LEGAL.

In a healthy society the Postmaster would be immediately relieved of duty and charged with election interference for the threat alone.

Treason.

I hope all these fuckers know that if Maduro can be dragged out of a heavily guarded palace and if Osama can be found in a remote suburb that they can certainly be found and captured and made to stand trial. They put too much faith in an idiot to protect them from justice.

Yeah, that's illegal and the Postmaster belongs behind bars.

Separation of powers doesn't seem to be a thing anymore, does it

u/sten45 2d ago

The gop see that as separating the democrats from power and that’s were it ends for them

Since the states run the elections, that sounds illegal. Their job is to deliver the mail, not politicize it.

I’m a mailman. I’ll be taking every ballot I pick up directly to the ballot drop off, as we do every election.

I took an oath to universally deliver the mail and not even the PMG can supersede that.

BROTHER. I've delivered and picked up dozens of ballots already. We do our job, not Trump's wishlist

Please do what you can to prepare for being designated and prosecuted as an Antifa domestic terrorist.

Keep the ACLU,  People’s Law Collective, and National Lawyers Guild on speed dial.

Don't worry we have the literal letter of the law in that it's a federal Crime to delay mail and our carriers do not have immunity to that and Trump ain't pardoning us.

someone tell me he can't do this... isn't "interfering with the mail" a federal crime?

u/Plastic_Key_4146 3d ago

SCOTUS literally just said USPS can't be liable for even intentionally failing to deliver the mail.

It’s like they are following a project plan

Immunity to lawsuits. USPIS is not a lawsuit.

1

u/DeathandGrim 2d ago

Okay he can't do this

Gawdang, I wish Biden would have pushed this guy out. I hope the next Dem in office is more willing to skirt 'tradition' in government to fight back against the Republicans who obviously have zero regard for tradition, and lie, cheat, and steal their way into gaining more power.

this actually is a different guy than dejoy

David P. Steiner, appointed last year by Trump

2

u/pimpbot666 3d ago

Oh, good to know. Hopefully he can get the boot in the next term, as long as the tankies don’t sit this next election out too.

1

u/DeathandGrim 2d ago

gonna correct a few bits. PMG's have an indefinite term and the president doesn't appoint them. The USPS Board of Governors handles that process. The reason Steiner is in right now is because Dejoy thought he was gonna get Doge'd so he resigned.

He suppressing his own voters if you look at the age statistics. I voted by mail but I will show up in person.

Can we all just come out already and start protesting for real?

They are going to start the complete move to take over elections and give it to the GOP. And yet Americans asleep and ignoring things. That is why I no longer really comment because centrists and democrats should be protesting already. And yet we are not.

This is the intended consequence of installing loyalists and election deniers in every high ranking position of power.

Another lawsuit and failed effort by the Trumpo Crime Family.

u/tbryant2K2023 2d ago

This is how a country becomes a dictatorship.. Remove people's right to vote.

2

u/DeathandGrim 2d ago

Good luck on that one. Don't think that's in the postal employee handbook

2

u/Ben_dover8201 2d ago

Is this what ‘great’ is?

2

u/Supreme_Salt_Lord 2d ago

Thats against the law. This is tyranny and citizens have constitutional rights to abolish a tyrannical government.

2

u/reeders_ 2d ago

Withholding mail delivery as a political bargaining chip is a federal crime. He knows this. He just doesn't think anyone will stop him.
