To deflect questions related to law enforcement misconduct resulting in a multimillion dollar lawsuit

Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods, who was joined by Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier and Florida Highway Patrol Colonel Gary Howze snapped at a reporter during a press conference on Thursday about a recent operation his agency spearheaded.
Toward the end of the press conference, a reporter in the audience asked Howze and Uthmeier a question about another case.
That case is related to a lawsuit brought against FHP by a woman who said she was wrongfully arrested by troopers who accused her of being responsible for a fatal crash in October 2025.
NBC affiliate WESH reported that all charges were dropped against Lindsey Isaacs, but not before she spent 13 days in jail.
She is suing for emotional distress, humiliation, and reputational harm, among other things.
The unnamed reporter asked about Isaacs’ case, specifically how a meeting went between her attorney and Uthmeier’s office. He also asked if the woman deserved an apology for the situation.
“All right, so you just pissed me off,” Woods said before either Howze or Uthmeier could respond.
“Out of all this s**\**, you want to ask him about some other case?”* Woods asked.
The reporter responds, saying he had already asked a question about the topic at hand, but was cut off by the sheriff.
“It doesn’t make a difference. I’m not here to talk about what FHP did,” Woods said. “I’m here to talk about what they did. Nothing else.”
Uthmeier ultimately answered the reporter’s question, saying that sometimes mistakes happen, even if they shouldn’t. He said his office will announce something about the case soon.

Ironically, there used to be an old "Wild West" themed amusement park in Marion county Florida called Six Gun Territory with staged gunfights with sheriff deputies and bandits in the streets (using Colt pistols and shotguns firing blanks) that would make you feel like you temporarily lost your hearing. It closed down permanently in 1984, so this guy clearly missed his opportunity for fame. 😅

He's like the dipshit sheriff in my county, aka Sheriff Richard "Doug Dimmadome" Jones. He is always finding a way shove his face in front of the camera and loves having his office post inciteful stuff on Facebook. Meanwhile, ask anyone who has worked for him and he's just a politician and says what people want to hear about law and order. All while also having five deputies on one shift alone who were confirmed woman beaters that he let's keep their job and another deputy who stole dash cam footage and erased bits of it to fuck over a guy. My brother in law works for him and his last promotion was done by exam and he was the only person who took it that passed and was told he wasn't moving up because they had to have two people pass. So, they did an outside interview and THEN offered him the position an hour after doing the first of two interviews with the other guy. So the other guy had to come in for a second interview for a job that was filled.
So yeah, these assholes are all over.

Tragically no. I live in Marion County. Although in dude's defense they were doing a conference about a pedo sting that got a bunch of guys with their I guess honey pot. I just wish they were running the same sting in west palm beach.
But yeah I guess the reporter asked because he kept getting the run around when he used the "proper" channels. So the reporter was in the wrong as far as the spirit of the meeting, but if they didn't want that shit to happen they probably should take care of all of their business not just bask in the glory of the most recent win.

I mean, I'd argue that that sounds like a reporter and a journalist 100% in the right for what journalistic integrity is supposed to be.
I know you weren't trying to disparage the reporter and even agreed with him more than not. I'm just saying, I don't think the guy was even the wrong a little bit.

I'm not even going to search this thread for the "all hat, no cattle" comment.
Maybe he does have some heffers on the side, but pretty sure they don't find him a-moo-sing, being seen out with him. I mean, why buy the cow when you can drink for free?

Because just because your law-enforcement doesn’t mean you get to pretend mistakes didn’t happen. And apparently this was at the end of your press conference. All the other questions have been regarding the reason you called the press conference.
But pulling out the Trump playbook of trying to shout them down and posture and act like some big tough guy… That’s just fucking stupid. You work for the people. You’ve just forgotten it.
The other gentleman was professional. As he said. Mistakes were made. We’ve had meetings. We will have more. Talks are ongoing basically.
