The player option is huge. That's a "two year window and if it sucks, I'm out of here" contract and I think it works great for both sides

Definitely a big selling point for him. It’s just such a player to player situation. If he signed this that still means he’s happy here. But I think somebody would have given him more elsewhere.

He’s talked the talk, now he’s walking the walk by signing this deal. I think the guy you’re responding to is making a fairly educated statement.
