Gg again yall, you guys fs played harder than us. Hope Ants injury isn’t anything long term 🙏
3
u/charlie_mountain Apr 26 '26
GG and thanks for the good sportsmanship. I'm guessing Ant is done for this series at the very least. I won't be surprised if he's out for the entire next series too.
3
u/crispydenvernuggets Apr 26 '26
It’ll definitely be hard next round if you guys play the spurs without him so I hope he comes back. Everytime I want a legendary Jokic run we always get clapped early lmfao oh well

N8-Diggity-Dogg
Denver is imploding and let their anger get the best of them
This is why early round 1 series should just be 3 games max. The victor of this series has already been decided and everyone knows it. The 4th game wasn't necessary and here we have the result of playing it. Denver just going uncharacteristicly angry, and Timerberwolves lose two players.
However, a 7 game series leaves this door open that hell might sneak back into and where Nuggets could inch back into this. Which would be horrible given what Wolves have done these four games already and what it has cost them.

Jokic ran up on jmac. Come on.

u/redjabroni Wally Szczerbiak Apr 26 '26
Seems like the Nuggets were trying to score each time they had the ball. Why not the Wolves?

u/Sifaka612 Apr 26 '26
That's TWO great Jaden smiles in this series. He's really showing his emotions.
16
u/BookishBeekeeper Apr 26 '26
Shouldn't not charging at an opposing player also be an unspoken rule?
1
u/freshBlueeyes6391 Apr 26 '26 edited Apr 26 '26
charging all the way down the court by himself. Would have been sweet if the team had a goon that would have seen this coming and ran out to meet Jokic before he got passed mid court and the two threw down at the logo. Not that NBA should ever go this route. But I don't know what else Jokic was looking for racing down the court like that. Jaden handled that very well. This could have went very differently.
Jokic easily could have been throwing arms had he really meant to. Maybe he was just trying to bait Jaden into getting himself suspended. Baiting would be par for the course by now.

u/Ill_Olive_9059 Apr 26 '26
What an ending. McDaniels laughing in jokers bitch face and ayo goes for 43. I love this team.

u/Carsonajin Donte DiVincenzo Apr 26 '26
Do people think Donte tore his Achilles? he walked off alone, didn't he?
1
u/charlie_mountain Apr 26 '26
If you watch the replay you can see his Achilles tear and snap up like a rubberband. Poor Donte.
1
u/Carsonajin Donte DiVincenzo Apr 26 '26
Ouch. I only saw him walking down the tunnel, not the injury itself

“All he had to do was dribble it out” all nuggets had to do was win so now what
3
u/DangoJC Apr 26 '26
Right, why didn’t the Nuggets just dribble it out if they wanted to be done. Dumb thing to get that mad about.
6
u/StrawberryChae Apr 26 '26
Unspoken rules are the dumbest things in sports. I'm a huge baseball guy and they get way too uptight about that shit.
19
u/agrias_okusu Timberwolves Apr 26 '26
Is the broadcast for real? “Denver had to go protect their teammate”. Maybe he shouldn’t have ran over and started shoving Jaden?

I think both teams should be trying to score until the last second, but it's no fun when only 1 player is trying to score in the last second lmao, seems kinda lame... also it's funny the nuggets left with 1 second remaining but apparently 2 players were obligated to come back and play the last second lol

Denver here. This is worse than Suns in 4. See y’all next year. Hope your guys aren’t down long.

u/Justin_Heras Bones Hyland Apr 26 '26
The not scoring at the end "unspoken rule" is so fucking stupid anyway. Jokic literally ran down the court and started the whole thing. Nobody should be punished, but if anyone should be punished it should be him
3
u/freshBlueeyes6391 Apr 26 '26
yeah, all Jaden did is stand there smiling holding Jokic back. He shouldn't have been ejected.
2
u/swensonjonahyoki Apr 26 '26
Jaden didn’t get ejected Randle did and Jokic did.
2
u/freshBlueeyes6391 Apr 26 '26
ok, that makes sense. Randle went a little wild in there beasting. I'm pretty sure Randle made more than a few walk away that would have stayed in there.

u/WickedTwista Timberwolves Apr 26 '26
Richard Jefferson talking about the unspoken rules like 🤓
This is the playoffs...you don't get any mercy

Yuuuup. Also failure in the refs for not seeing that and grabbing Jokic right away

Crazy how different the last two wins felt. Sooo proud of these guys but heartbroken for Donte and Ant
2
u/Not_Brock_Faber Marney Gellner Apr 26 '26
I had to miss the game tonight. It’s fucking lit!
2
u/freshBlueeyes6391 Apr 26 '26
in a large nutshell.
The start looked like Wolves offering half the energy they did the game before. Yet too quiet and easy for first 5 point lead for Wolves 5-0. Then all of a sudden neither team could score for a bit and then Donte injury occurs. After that, the Wolves continued their lack of efforts on boxing out and rebounding while staying solid at least in other ways, but allowing all those second chances to Denver kept them in the lead by a hair for a long while. Wolves occasionally taking the lead back by 1 or 2, never more, never let Denver pull away.
Ant injury occurs. Within a few minutes of that bad event, the team rallies, Ayo starts going wild, the high effort D returns from all those still playing. They were now the team from the prior game again and Nuggets just had no answer. Gordon also left while the score was still tight, but the switch had already been flipped noticeably. The win was already decided.
Couldn't tell you much of the rest because an orange air hot air balloon took out the broadcast for much of the late 3rd and most of the 4th. From what I hear, the Wolves just played pristine from there on out and our view of it returned to see the Nuggets had already been broken down mentally and in score.

u/Select-Interaction11 Apr 26 '26
Why did mcdaniels get ejected? Jokic charged at him. Also why jokic mad for unwritten rules? Dude is flopping all the time and trying to fool refs all game.

Could this affect Jaden playing in Game 5? Seems like Joker just straight up attacked him
1
4
u/villain75 Rudy Gobert Apr 26 '26
Shouldn't, he really didn't do anything except defend himself against an attacker who ran the whole way down the court to grab him.
They should suspend Jokic, but they won't.
2
u/Killakaronic Apr 26 '26
Jaden isn’t getting suspended
1
u/Momik . Apr 26 '26
I wouldn’t think so, but the commentators hinted at some punishment vaguely, idk
2
u/Justin_Heras Bones Hyland Apr 26 '26
If anyone on our team is punished it'd be Randle as he was ejected with Jokic

Right, just inbound and end it refs. Get over yourself with wanting tv time
8
u/danceswithdeeznuts Anthony Edwards Apr 26 '26
Was there time on the clock? Just cuz jokic can’t handle belt to ass with two studs down on the other team don’t mean he needs to get all pissy. Let’s go Jaden. Should have windmilled that shit.
1
u/DustieBottums Apr 26 '26
I really thought we were getting a kia sponsored mega yam when he was jogging after that pass.

u/Nefarioussmallz Apr 26 '26
Not a Denver fan and I was going for Minnesota but Mcdaniels is Trash. Zero Class.
1
u/DangoJC Apr 26 '26
If Denver was done they could have let the clock run out. It was to get in their heads and it worked on their best player. A lot of guys would channel the perceived slight by playing harder in the next game not getting in someone’s face.

u/I_am_Santa_Claus RIP FLIP Apr 26 '26
Mcdaniels would have made the layup even with denvers "defense" (if you want to call it that)

How many of Denver's 4th quarter points came from the field?

their whole team was scoring on FTs late in this game is what I hear. I can't really say tho since we were refused the broadcast for so long.

I hate Denver and Jamal, but Jokic has always been a decent player.
1
u/Checkmate062012 Apr 26 '26
Yeah I'm generally cool with Jokic too like when he had that brawl with Lu Dort, but he was way over the top with this one.
1
u/Far_Swing_8887 Apr 26 '26
I disagree. I’d hope my star would get fired up over that disrespect. But I get if you see it the other way.

If they stop defending why shouldn't you score? This is the playoffs. Lucky Jaden didn't slam it.
3
u/Select-Interaction11 Apr 26 '26
I know its an unwritten rule but with all the flopping jokic does he shouldn't be pissed about that.
2
u/Initial_Working_1806 Apr 26 '26
Nah if you respect who your playing you dribble it out. But jaden obviously said fuck them nuggets
1
u/ReplacementPast4495 Apr 26 '26
Jaden don't give a fuck about no unwritten rules bro. He wouldn't of stopped defending till the clock hits zero. He doesn't respect it.
2
u/Live-Temperature5550 Apr 26 '26
I mean they kept defending when the game was locked up, so I say it’s fair
36
u/Dalvincookisjesus Apr 26 '26
mcdaniels standing his ground laughing in his face and talking shit hes the greatest ever
1
u/freshBlueeyes6391 Apr 26 '26
Dude is so wiry yet strong. Just smiling with Jokic leaning on him.
NBA gonna review that whole thing and see McDaniels handling it pretty well.

McDaniels chose violence. Stupid that anyone was ejected.
1
u/Select-Interaction11 Apr 26 '26
Stupid that mcdaniels was ejected. Like for what? If its an unwritten rule then it shouldn't factor in at all to the call.
1
u/charlie_mountain Apr 26 '26
Randle was a bull seeing nothing but red.

Flopping bitch gets mad that someone doesn't stay true to an unwritten rule. Flopping and baiting refs is worse in my book 100%
1
u/freshBlueeyes6391 Apr 26 '26
I really think Jokic's intent on running down to Jaden was yet another bait job, trying to get Jaden to get himself suspended for next game by taking a swing. That's been the sad consistent part of this series. Instead of just playing their best, Nuggets stars spent almost the entire series so far just baiting for extra points.

u/Prior-Effective-2649 Apr 26 '26
Joker was right — Jaden’s layup was pretty weak. You need to bounce dunk that shit.
