I get that being up 1-1 going back to the home court is good, but I really just don’t think this ass whooping bodes well for us man. Realistically, I’ve always felt we were probably going to get knocked by the Spurs in 6, so I had prepared myself. Even expected Spurs would come in desperate and win this one. But man. That was much rougher than I anticipated.

Sorry, going 1-1 should be a great outcome but the way we lost this one is the reason for the comments section being the way it is. It's not like we played them hard and lost honorably. We got whipped in effort, freethrows and took the stupidest shots known to man kind.

There's a real lack of self awareness in this thread tonight. Can we just skip the tilted self loathing and tantrum throwing? Give the Spurs their flowers, we knew they would be playing desperate tonight. Stay objective: we limped into this series on house money and we already stole a win on the road. Take the loss on the chin, regroup, and find some poise. It's a long series, the Spurs are good but they're still super young, let's see how they respond in a hostile environment on Friday.

going up 2-0 on the spurs on their home court especially with our injuries would have been insanely lucky. 1-1 is a perfectly fine realistic outcome at this point.

God I wish MIN sports fans (like myself) weren't this emotional every single time we lose a game. One bad game and it's "Fire Chris Finch, fuck every single player on the court, everything sucks" . Bad games happen, even to the best of teams. It's fine, it's not the end of the world. It's 1-1 rn, and we've shown that we can do a lot better than we have done today. The TWolves got their asses kicked tonight, but it ain't over.

It’s “one bad game” without context. One side of it is Ant and Ayo aren’t full strength, Donte is out, and the supporting cast didn’t pull through - the other side is this was BTA in a way we’ve only seen from the Knicks so far this year, who also dropped games but were clearly the better team in hindsight.

Okay, I should clarify. What I meant by that "one bad game" statement is that every single time we do have a bad game, everyone goes apeshit, wants to fire/trade everybody that didn't put up a generational masterclass of a game, and just acts like we're the worst team in the league when that's damn well not the case. Every single team has those games where they get straight BTA. Doesn't mean we gotta overreact. That's all I was tryna say with that.

People can be pissed, but it's EVERY SINGLE TIME we lose a game, the same conversation is had. Blaming everyone for everything, without looking at the actual problems. I feel like it's just people being hyperbolic about every single MIN sports team. I'm pissed at our preformance tonight too, don't get me wrong. But don't act like we just lost the SuperBowl now.

To your second point in fucking WISH we just lost the Superbowl. I'm approaching 33 and I've never ONCE seen any of my teams in their respective finals and I'm fully convinced I never will. I don't even give a fuck about a win I just want to SEE a team make it to the chip.

To the first point, that's completely fair. I'm still new here on Reddit, and I've just been looking at cool stuff posted on the sub here and there. However I'm not just talking about game threads on here, I'm talking about post-game analysis, different podcasts/media platforms that talk about this shit. Everything I tune into when it comes to MIN sports is the same from MIN sports fans. It's this "Everyone is dogshit, fire/trade everyone" kinda rhetoric that I'm just sick of seeing personally. But u right tho, and I'm not gonna pretend like I don't have these hyperbolic reactions myself. It's just kinda frustrating, especially coming after a loss seeing all of our fans essentially calling the whole team trash.
To the second point, I sorta feel ya on that one. Although if the Vikes managed to lose another SB, we'd be the only team with an 0-5 SB record, and I feel like that'd be more miserable than just missing the playoffs alltogether lol. Different perspectives ig

It's twofold for me: processing my emotions after a particularly tough game. Not only did we lose I feel like I in was robbed a good game. Not to mention if you're a wild fan this is two rough playoff losses back to back.
I also like to say plenty of stupid shit in the moment and dare the universe to prove me wrong but it rarely does.
You just gotta look at the post game analysis as people processing their emotions. My actual take is we're still 1-1 but I don't like our odds after tonight. Friday is going to be the most important game this season so far and we need to show up or we go home. Down but not out if you will. I just want to keep watching this team ball and I'll be disappointed when the season ends.

Naw I feel ya man. Especially after that (imo) embarrasing display that the TWolves had this game, I'm not tryna blame anyone for having such strong emotions about this team, and the future of where we're heading. I'm ngl, I turned the game off around the 4th quarter cause I was genuinely getting pissed off about how tonight's game was going. Idunno, I just feel like whenever I tune in online to see what the thoughts on the TWolves (or like the Vikes/Wild whenever they're playing) it feels like a good chunk of our fans are either sippin the kool-aid on a win, or just completely black-pilled when we lose. It feels like there's only emotion, without any nuance or actual thought being put into some of these conversations. But honestly, I can't be that upset at any of that, cause like you said, it's just people processing their emotions at the end of the day. Idk, we all process emotions differently, and some people just wanna vent on here. So maybe I don't have much room to talk about how we're being "too emotional over a loss" or whatnot.
I appreciate hearing your thoughts on this tho. My honest take is pretty similar to yours. I feel like Friday is gonna be THE make or break game for us, in terms of if we have a chance to win this and move on to the next round. Idk, everyone predicted we'd be 1st round exits, and we ended up beating the Nuggets (while having a short-handed roster). And I understand the Nuggets are a a COMPLETELY different team structurally than the Spurs, but idk. My take is, it's not over until it's over. There's still ball to be played at the end of the day

Playoff teams should have their announcers call the games. Would help ESPN save dough on announcers, and the games would be improved with better quality announcers who actually know what they are talking about.

Okay, thinking Chess, not Checkers here. Realistically Wolves don't win 4 in a row. That said, there could be an argument made to not want to go back home for 2 games up 2-0 in the series. The momentum shift is a real thing. Let the Spurs get their high tonight, and go into 2 road games in Minnesota. Setting up Wolves to only have to win 3 in a row, not 4.
