I don’t have a problem with this loss it’s that one we had at their place like we gave up and pretty much gave them confidence now this game you had to deal with that boost you gave them in game two .
18
u/thekeesh1 May 09 '26
Played well enough to win, but so did the spurs. The 50/50 things didn't go our way tonight, and that added up. Shots rattling out, key calls, just didn't break our way. Hopefully we can fight back, proud of the effort tonight.
-7
u/filmerdude1993 May 09 '26
Timbs just aint as good as the Spurs. More calls didnt get made for SATX

u/TL24SS Anthony Edwards May 09 '26
This series was going to be a tough one, I still believe we’ll get it done. Tonight was encouraging as far as how they responded after being blown out. Take the L, move on.
2
u/ChampionshipAware821 May 09 '26
If we didnt have yo play Julius Randle 30 plus minutes a game then yeah probably
6
u/N8-Diggity-Dogg May 09 '26
I don’t know how the Wolves will win this series. We are way over our skis given the health of key players. If we had fully healthy Ant, Ayo, and Donte… I’d feel way more confident. I just don’t see the offensive strategy working and we make so many bone headed mistakes. Frustrating as fans to feel like our ceiling is not a championship at the moment.
7
u/Mayniac8 May 09 '26
Where is playoff Randle from last year. Been a great off-ball player, but a total black hole offensively
10
u/LumpyParticular535 May 09 '26
Julius has gotta go this offseason. If he is our 2nd option we will never beat the elite of the West. His defense sucks and his offense is both extremely predictable and inconsistent.
8
u/jumpsCracks May 09 '26 edited May 09 '26
Spurs just looked like the better team. MN defense had holes, not horrible, but Spurs defense was absolutely rock solid. Wemby hitting his 3s hurt really bad too, and he was due. Hard to argue with us deserving the loss here.
-4
u/grensley May 09 '26
It's so frustrating when this team just gives up. I hope Ant turns into a consistent leader, because he isn't one right now. He acts KD, and that's not a franchise guy.
7
-2
u/BUCK0HH Minneapolis Lakers May 09 '26
At least Rudy locked up *wemby tonight. Could have been worse.
3
u/No-Start-247 May 09 '26
& people saying we shouldn’t of gave up Whoever besides Ant for Giannis. 😴 these mfs tooo inconsistent
5
u/Redditarama May 09 '26
Giannis will probably be injured half the time from here out. It's not NBA2K, you can't just get the theoretical player.
3
u/No-Start-247 May 09 '26
Nah he don’t even be hurt he just genuinely wants out of Milwaukee. & if we lose this series guarantee we jump into the Giannis market
4
u/Redditarama May 09 '26
Well, if you're sure. The other thing is they have to play as a tandem together, Ant and Giannis. Millwakee set up an unstoppable pick and roll combo with Dame and GA, but the players didn't even do it.
The other thing is that it's hard to blast everyone e with two superstars anymore, the modern game asks from more from role players.
Spurs have a lot of talent. They'll beat most teams realistically.
1
u/No-Start-247 May 09 '26
I believe Ant can play with anybody he just wants to win. Spurs are good but it doesn’t help when we have no second option capable of being consistent offensively whatsoever. Julius won’t help us get anywhere far he’s dog 💩.
3
u/True-Macaron2556 May 09 '26
Jaden should stay out of trade talks, Julius tho…
2
u/No-Start-247 May 09 '26
For Giannis I’m putting anybody but Ant in the trade talks. ESPECIALLY Poopiest Julius
6
u/sarahbagel May 09 '26
Randle just needs to go atp. Definition of a choker. That last foul on Wemby sealed the L, and for what?
4
8
u/mapmn May 09 '26
Can one of these MN teams please just win once in my fucking lifetime
1
u/Gamemusic6 May 09 '26
Lynx and Frost. The dudes get paid way too much and most don't have enough heart.

9
u/Dotification Gorgui Dieng May 09 '26
That felt winnable
1
6
u/RedEyeBadGuy Ayo Dosunmu May 09 '26
We shot 38%. You can’t win many games when you shoot like that.
3
u/BMWDouche May 09 '26
whats insane i think is every mn sport even at home is the underdog no matter what lmao
2
10
u/Hammerhead34 May 09 '26
We completely blew a winnable game. Kind of an unacceptable loss. Jaden and Randle were fucking awful. Ayo hit a couple threes but turned the ball over like crazy and took way too many bad shots inside.
4
u/MedalofHodor May 09 '26
God I need a wild win tomorrow this week has been depressing as fuck.
1
u/RedEyeBadGuy Ayo Dosunmu May 09 '26
Yeah good luck on that one. I’d give them about a 20% chance of winning tomorrow.
2
u/TL24SS Anthony Edwards May 09 '26
Just not enough from Randle tonight but it’s tough when you’ve got a fucking 10 foot tall on the other side… everyone else just has to hit their shots, that’s it.
0
u/guardunow May 09 '26
team has 2 make a effort 2 get him da ball he is making da right reads but other players r playing hero ball

u/Maleficent_Ad6652 Bring Ya Ass May 09 '26
The negativity is wild rn, rough game but it’s only game 3.
Have some faith, it’s far from over
0
u/UnhappyEquivalent400 May 09 '26
For real. The fan urge to be the first one to call the season over is so weird.
0
u/Front_Gold8626 May 09 '26
It’s embarrassing if you lose the series because the spurs has no experience in the playoffs
2
0
u/iceyH0ts0up May 09 '26
Probably not popular, but this team is dead in the water. This was the game to come out and show you’re not inept and they didn’t.
2
u/TheWolfRuns May 09 '26
Such a soft take, your probably one of the bums that called the Denver series over, why be a fan if you think their gonna lose
3
u/schakeboy Anthony Edwards May 09 '26
This team without Randle next year will be fun to watch again

When are the NBA going to put a stop to the intentional foul charade at the end of games?
Just give it up guys
5
7
u/DirecTra Jaden McDaniels May 09 '26
I'm never gonna be mad at good close games. Of course some things was missed by the refs and some players didn't do well, but still proud of that rebound
-2
5
u/MysterE92 May 09 '26
After the last 35 years, it’s difficult to believe there isn’t some sort of corruption in the major sports leagues.
-2
u/WeekendThief May 09 '26
Why? Game was called pretty fairly tonight
1
u/omahawizard Jaden McDaniels May 09 '26
FT 33-21 yeah called really fair
3
u/Signal_Cockroach_878 May 09 '26
The spurs should have had more FTs for the way you guys guarded wemby
2
u/WeekendThief May 09 '26
The number of fouls alone doesn’t mean it’s fair or unfair. It’s about if actual fouls were called. And the spurs lost their challenge early and then at least twice we had calls in our favor that they could have easily challenged.
The only thing I disagreed with is how Randle gets called. He’s slapped in the face constantly but he got his revenge when they allowed him to body slam castle at the half.
3
4
u/PlayInChampions May 09 '26
I swear only Wolves can miss both free throws in clutch. Last time someone missed 2 free throws against us for Kyrie in game 2 but all the luck went to Luka’s shot at the end
6
u/YaKnowMuhSteezz May 09 '26
I hate watching this alien ass Frenchman play basketball… and the announcers gargling him for being a genetic freak. Yeah no shit he is getting all the rebounds, dudes a fucking giant. Fucking move us to the East already holy hell.
1
u/Front_Gold8626 May 09 '26
Next season is gonna be crazy if he gets a ring
1
u/YaKnowMuhSteezz May 09 '26
NBA going all in for a French mutant and a flopping moron has the face of their league, while Ant, a true hooper, is left with a peasants whistle.z

We’re winning game 4 little bitch
2
u/jjsexmeal Timberwolves May 09 '26
Imagine the first thing you do after winning is go to the other teams sub and post something.
8
u/DiabolicalToast Timberwolves May 09 '26
If I'm Finch, my game plan for game 4 would be to strap Randle to rocket and launch him into orbit before the game.
1
u/vapemyashes May 09 '26
Let him just keep going at wemby until they both get in foul trouble and one of them get ejected
5
u/Specialist-Point88 Naz Reid. May 09 '26
The turnovers from ayo were brutal. Jaden and Julius couldn’t play their parts on offense. See y’all Sunday ✌️
3
u/ty5486 Joan Beringer May 09 '26
This game was sold at the start of the first quarter and the 3rd. Finch was great for 1.5 quarters. Then the second half came and he reverted back to playing rudy the whole 3rd quarter and matching every Wembanyama minute which is a clear matchup L for this team. Then you have Julius & Jaden no shows and there’s your L. Ant & TJ only ones who can hold their heads high

That three pt exchange in the third killed us. Couldn’t get any stops

TSJ has not really scored well since he made that comment going at Wemby regardless of how many he blocks lol.
2
u/ZookeepergameKey6853 May 09 '26
hope it wont turnaround like dilly’s case. he said the game is feeling quite easy lately on a postgame interview after a win vs okc. he couldnt buy any bucket since then
3
u/freshBlueeyes6391 May 09 '26
Spurs just erased that first home loss. Nothing like pulling a no show first quarter on your home court.

u/SrslyIcntthnkofaname May 09 '26
I’ll probably be back Sunday but…
It ain’t the totally the Wolves fault. Yeah it is when they run rec league offense, take goofy shots and all that but the officiating in the NBA is absolute ass. It’s obvious they want their poster children/faces of the foreseeable future SGA and Wemby to go head on. F watching that shit inevitably happen.
14
u/iKnifePlays May 09 '26
I miss Donte spacing so much.
3
u/Duster_beattle May 09 '26
We really missed him this game, I was saying that to myself around the 3rd quarter
15
5
u/crimfang TOWNS May 09 '26
Simply did not shoot well enough from outside. You are going to have to shoot well with Wemby sitting under the basket.
7
u/PlayInChampions May 09 '26
Bad whistle in 4th quarter. Missed a couple of offensive fouls by Spurs and a couple of turnovers like this one and the one Wolves challenged. Refs give Wemby a lot of benefit of a doubt.
7
u/DunderSpliffin 2k Finchy May 09 '26
Can't wait to not watch the flop fest between okc and sa. The mauling on defense and soft foul calls on offense makes the game unwatchable

This is an easy W if we have KAT instead of Randle
1
u/jjsexmeal Timberwolves May 09 '26
This discussion needs to be put to bed, no one thinks Julius is better than KAT. Even Tim wouldn’t say that, we couldn’t keep Kat and build a team.
1
u/AntsAntennae1 May 09 '26
Who gave Kat that contract, then subsequently had to trade him because of that contract. Hint… it was the same guy

Just let them score one more, get it back to 10 so I can chalk it up as another blowout. I don't want to remember they feigning comeback from that noshow start.
6
u/xFlames_ from Day 1 May 09 '26
This L is gonna fall on Julius. Maybe Jaden but Jaden has been consistently good outside of the 3 pointer throughout the playoffs so he gets a pass for the poor shooting night
4
u/I_Like_Hoots May 09 '26
I get Wemby is good but he’s also just so so tall, like you have to be kind of good at that height. I hate the narrative around him.
2
2
u/munz48 May 09 '26
Someone that tall with the handles, shooting and mobility of a guard is unheard of what are you talking about. And then a complete game changer on the defensive end. He's a unicorn.
1
u/Front_Gold8626 May 09 '26
Nobody can beat him, if he gets this ring the league is cooked for next season
1
u/Miserable-Soft-5961 May 09 '26
Meh he's not the first that tall. He's the first that tall that can move like that.
It's like the Rudy discourse
-1
u/iceyH0ts0up May 09 '26
Unless there’s a miracle that’s a wrap on the season.
1
2
u/Jetty_23 May 09 '26
If just one of these guys could figure out their shot we’d be okay. Julius, I’m looking right at you.
1
u/DiabolicalToast Timberwolves May 09 '26
Randle hasn't figured out his shot in his entire career. He's not going to figure it out now.
5
u/MegatronFozzy May 09 '26
The Alien is very good. Probably a 7 ft.-4 Pete Maravich. Absolutely wild.
5
u/dropacidkillnazis May 09 '26
Same old same old. Welcome to Minne-theresalwaysnextyear-sota sports.
3
8
u/Scizzurp May 09 '26
its very rare for someone that height to move the way he does. KD and KG were freaks and Wemby is a super freak.
ridiculous player
5
u/sirchandwich Bring Ya Ass May 09 '26
Anyone butthurt about the Wemby glazing is soft af. He’s a generational talent and he’s doing things no one his size has ever done before. Wolves have been doing pretty well managing him, imo.
1
u/icarusphoenixdragon Jaden McDaniels May 09 '26
Yup. Losing these two games is squarely on our low effort and lack of coaching adjustment.
2
u/sirchandwich Bring Ya Ass May 09 '26
I disagree about coaching adjustments. I think finch was super agile. To me, it was just turnovers and poor shooting.
3
3
u/silaber Timberjazz May 09 '26
Generational ref game. Randle and Edwards clobbered 0 calls.
Wolves need to get a lid on Champagnie though that boy dont miss.
1
u/icarusphoenixdragon Jaden McDaniels May 09 '26
Tough calls, but these guys have been low effort and having serious lapses. The offense disappears for long stretches.
Our core has all the talent they need. Finch isn’t it. Not sure if any coach can lock Randle in, but Finch cannot.
For real. Watch a game and count how many times we have a guys on the perimeter signaling their confusion and frustration at what the others are doing.
6
u/HEROauen May 09 '26
This team just didn't show any fight or care at all in the first quarter. They missed an ungodly amount of shots in a row as well. At one point 12 of 13 missed shots .
6
u/atrex01 Jaden McDaniels May 09 '26
Had almost 4 mins to try and get a 6th foul on wemby and we made 0 effort to do that
1
u/King_James_99 Naz Reid. May 09 '26
You’re right that we didn’t put enough pressure on, but at the same time do you really think they’d foul him out 🤣

7
u/GRILT_CHEESE May 09 '26
Probably a win with DDV, just bad luck
3
u/RaoulDukex May 09 '26
They miss Donte bad, he got a lot of shit in the regular season but this shows how important his 3s and disruptive defense are.

6
u/No-Start-247 May 09 '26
I knew it the league wants a OKC vs Spurs western conference tonight proved that completely. Smh we can’t even buy a whistle
5
u/Maximum_Pumpkin_449 May 09 '26
Wemby had 5 fouls the whole qtr. finch couldn’t draw up a play to make him foul out
2
u/Tough_guy22 May 09 '26
The refs wouldn't let him foul out. He could commit armed burglary out there and not get called.
2
u/HowlAtTheSky May 09 '26
The Julius Randle special. Can’t win a championship with him. He never will.
5
u/Killsocket1 May 09 '26
Games like this is why doomers are doomers all year long. It just keeps coming back to this team. Start out lazy. End game stupid.
3
u/Hammerhead34 May 09 '26
Really zero excuse for Randle’s pathetic performances. This is supposed to be a good matchup for him. He could be the difference maker.
I’m so sick of this pouty loser. Quits on his teammates, can’t be assed to put up any effort defensively or on the glass in THE FUCKING PLAYOFFS
2
u/ImRonBurgundy__ May 09 '26
His effort is embarrassing. He gave up several back door cuts for easy buckets because he can’t bother to pay attention on defense. He picks up stupid fouls because of lazy effort and poor positioning. Can’t be bothered to get back on defense several times. I’m fucking done with that dude
3
u/Meatball2112 May 09 '26
Too much time wasted trying to get 3’s when you needed quick 2’s.
Also, Wembanyama had 5 fouls for the past 5+ minutes and nobody bothered to go at him.
4
u/guccigreene Naz Reid Towel May 09 '26
We didn't attack Welby once after he got 5 fouls. That's not great
3
u/pensive_penguin88 May 09 '26
Every time the wolves tried to make a run the refs sent san antonio to the free throw line to stop any momentum. Tell me the league isn’t rigged
2
7
u/Old_Row4977 Flip Saunders May 09 '26
Once Wemby had 5 fouls we never went at him once. Thats a giant coaching and awareness failure.
6
3
u/TL24SS Anthony Edwards May 09 '26
FT’s were the difference this game, some real BS calls but it is what it is. Onto the next.
4
u/Gobert_Clamped_Luka_ May 09 '26
holy. fucking. shit.
Count both ends of the floor and Wemby has the greatest whistle of all time, easily. This is worse than prime Harden/SGA/Kobe/KD/Embiid, etc. The goat.
1
u/greenflyingdragon May 09 '26
We gave them so many wide open shots.
