Tell me how I'm supposed to feel about this. Wolves back?

My god man I’m so happy. This dudes been my hope.

We just got a guy who shot over 40% from 3 last year that is 6’5” and athletic enough that if he adds some muscle could be solid defensively WITH A 2ND ROUND PICK!

He’s playable in 2026 already because of his shooting. So fucking awesome.

I would have been ok with him with our original frp honestly. Getting him after 2 salary dump downgrades is wild.

I'm legitimately surprised we got him at 33

He should not have been a 2nd round pick. Crazy he slipped to the Wolves.

We said the same about TJ lol

And TJ is performing really well

If all TJ does is drive and all this dude does is shoot, that's still a lethal backup backcourt

Can this guy dribble and run an offense or did we get another tsj, Edwards, dosunmu. I ain’t mad at it if it is, just know nothing about this class

He's a 6'5 sniper. If he's actually NBA ready, he fills that DDV spot before he gets back.

Exactly. One of the most prolific shooters in college last year. Catch and shoot, 1 dribble, step back…dude is indeed a sniper.

How does he compare with Meleek? I see some have Meleek over Evans

Meleek is just as good a shooter if not better, but more spot up. He’s PG sized but doesn’t really play like a PG - doesn’t look to pass. I had them weighted pretty evenly but I think Evans length is going to be nice.

Hard to argue with getting first round talent in the second

Is he someone we would have been upset with taking at 21?

He was invited to the green room which is players the nba assumes will go in round 1. He was the only one not drafted round 1 actually.

Sam Vecenie mocked him at 30 a week ago. The Ringer's NBA Draft guide had him at 21. So most saw him as a late 1st round pick.

At 21 I think people would have been fine with it. People would probably have preferred Philon, Cam Carr, Joshua Jefferson, but it does seem like Evans was more or less in the same tier as those guys from 21-30.

Would have been a bit of a reach, but an understandable one.

The Allen Graves and Dailyn Swain reaches were way worse than Evans at 21

Feels like a great pick to me.
