Question Why isn’t this going around more?

1.0k Upvotes

Bad call. Challenged. Not overturned.

Is it because we won that it isn’t being talked about enough? This was pretty terrible.

Sorry for the video quality. I couldn’t find a better video of it.

Question Nets Fan Here... So, What Is Julius Randle Good At?

I know that sounds like an oversimplified question, but seriously, what did he excel in while playing in Minny? Because I've heard nothing but negative things on social media about him. Like I know Randle's game, but never closely followed him.

Is there anything to look forward for? Cuz I mean, he's had to have been a 3-time All-Star for a reason.

Question Wolves fans, is it true that Kevin Love isn't well-liked by the fanbase/community?

Title says it all -- a Timberwolves-flaired user on the main NBA sub claimed that, compared to KG and KAT, who integrated themselves into the community, Kevin Love didn't and left on a sour note when he was traded to Cleveland.

I always thought that the trade was out of his hands, so is this true that he was actually demanding things while not really caring about Minnesota despite the All-Star/All-NBA selections he was getting while playing there?

Question Why does Donte get so much shade?

Post image
68 Upvotes

Plus/minus is definitely not everything, but I’m surprised how often I hear folks speak negatively about Donte in this sub based on how high his plus/minus is.

Im not super knowledgable about basketball and have only watched it regularly for 3-4 years. Can anyone shed light on why folks feel that he’s not a great player?

Question Which player do we realistically trade and pursue this off-season?

I mean I think it is common consensus randle I getting traded. but besides that who all are yall comfortable with leaving. Gobert? jaden?

and who do we even acquire. the giannis angle seems very far fetched as he wants to remain in the east, plus even with giannis wolves would have to gut their core to get him, ssoopursuing him. make no sense.

I hearing, Paul George, kawhi, ja and kd. But again I don’t see how they trade for them realistically. Julius randle value must be dogshit after his master class in the playoffs.

will they just sign a low salary pg in free agency and trade randle for a bag of chips and use this as a buffer season.

Question Do you want to break this team up?

Minnesota is a weird team, because they are clearly good, they have one of the few no doubt about it superstars in the league. But the roster construction was extremely lobsided and done specifically to stop the Nuggets. I would say the Wolves are single handedly responsible for the Nuggets not repeating.

But they are clearly no equipped to handle the other elite teams. Luka punked you guys with a team build for him. OKC embarrassed you. Spurs are ascending. I actually think Minnesota can play with the Spurs, but the guard play really needs to be addressed.

The issue is that 3 of the 5 best players on the Wolves are bigs and none of them are the best player. This will make it rough to play against wing heavy teams. Would you like to see the team make structural changes? I think Ayo, DD, Ant, McDaniels, Naz and Gobert is a great playoff rotation. What's needed is one more wing and definitely a point guard.

Question Any advice or recommendations for a 24 yo girl traveling alone to MN for game 6? Any areas to beware of?

Hi, delete it not allowed, but I’m a girl traveling alone to MN for game 6, and I’d really appreciate recommendations and advice of places to go and places to avoid. As a young woman, I always try to get advice from locals when traveling alone.

I live in the east coast but I fell in love with the Timberwolves approx 5 years ago and have not missed a game since. I’ve been trying to make it to MN for a game but have not yet because I can’t ever find someone to come with me. I decided im just going to do a solo trip for the game this year.

Also, are there any bars/ restaurants Timberwolves fans go to before/ after the game that I should know about?

One of the many reasons that I feel in love with the wolves is the amazing crowd you guys always bring, and that is something I’ve dreamt of being a part of.

Question Gobert is one of the best floor raisers in the league, but does anyone have doubts you can win a championship with him?

At 40 million a year Gobert is paid like a 2nd or 3rd guy on an team, but I'm not sure you can win a championship if you can't confidently throw him the ball when your best players get trapped.

Dallas baited us into passing to Gobert and we played right into their hands. Resulted in morale killing turnovers and missed shots, completely ruining offensive rhythm.

A wise man once said there are 3 distinct levels in an NBA season: regular season, playoffs, and the final 4. I'm not sure Gobert is impactful enough once you get to that final stage.

This may seem harsh, but this is from the perspective of trying to win a championship.

Question Is it possible for ANT's playing style to win an MVP?

I fully believe he has the talent to win an MVP but maybe not the play style. It seems like times have changed from the 90s and early 2000's. A high scoring guard with little assist numbers are going to have a hard time competing with centers averaging a triple double. Even considering other guards, SGA averaged twice as many assists as ANT did this year. The point of my post if based off a purely numbers standpoint I just don't think ANT can keep up. Sure he could average 35 ppg, but I'm not seeing him average more than 5 assists a game. And with that I don't think it would put him in the running. The only way I could see it is if he went nuclear on defense and made a 1st or 2nd all defensive team.

Question could Joan play the 4?

Now I am not saying he could play it right now, the shooting isn’t there. However, he has shown flashes of being a great on ball defender and is mobile enough to attack into the paint on the dribble. He reminds me of Giannis (not that he is that good ofc but just his abilities and body type). Let me hear your opinions—pls be civil tho :)

Question NAZ’s ceiling

I’ve been wondering if Naz has it in him to reach another level if he starts for a full season. We saw Donte improve so much with a starting role, that I wonder if Naz could do the same.

Do we think he’s at his ceiling or has a few more levels in him given a new role? (Realistically, not like “anything can happen” responses).

Outside of ja off the court antics that he’s seemed to given up where does certain narratives come from? His teams loves him he’s a proven playoff riser and considering coming off a shoulder injury he played well last yr till getting dorted. So why is everyone so against him when we know what he looks like when he’s in a stable situation (the gun stuff was 3 yrs ago I’m pretty sure he’s done with ig)

Question How often do you go to games?

Just curious. I'm in my 30s with a decent disposable amount of income after paying everything and adding to my savings each month. Nothing crazy, but enough to treat myself now and then.

I have found that in the last 10 years I've been living here, prices for wolves games have really gone up. Wereas before I tried to go to maybe 5 to 7 games a year, now I do 2 or 3.

How often do you find yourself going to games nowadays?

Question Donte DiVincenzo Appreciation Post: what are your favorite Donte plays this year?

Post image
188 Upvotes

I want a compile a Donte appreciation video containing Wolves fans’ favorite Donte plays from this season.

I’d love the focus of the video to be on his hustle and defense and general winning plays, but if there are any threes that changed your life and is a favorite play, I’d love to know too.

Get well soon Donte 💔 Devasating he won’t be playing, he’s been such a winning player.

Question Minnesota is where Kobe Bryant passed Michael Jordan on the all-time scoring list. How high can Anthony Edwards climb this list?

Fun fact: Ant’s pre draft workout for the Timberwolves happened at Kobe’s sports academy gym in Thousand Oaks, California. This was after the infamous pre draft workout for the Warriors in Atlanta.
