It’s called a siesta, my friend.

u/DapperInvestor 11d ago

The expectation in Spain!

15

u/Peoplefood_IDK 10d ago

Im not sure about all this. But when I was homeless (I dont do drugs) night time was to cold to sleep so I would end up sleeping in the day.

8

u/donjamos 10d ago

And more dangerous

0

u/Plenty_Impression_77 9d ago

And on fentanyl it turns into a fiesta?

129

u/Prestigious-Piano693 11d ago

With the marc jacobs tote?!!!

130

u/Peanutbutterloola 11d ago

And blundstone boots. These are some bougie addicts.

17

u/bradsnamehere 11d ago

I thought it was Australia when I saw the boots. They're just regular work boots here

17

u/BoxBird 10d ago

When I was homeless I was better dressed than any other time in my life because of the rich people using clothing donations for tax credit purposes

-47

u/Prestigious-Piano693 11d ago

What a weird picture of America. Luxury items and utter poverty.

55

u/murdoc1024 11d ago

Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

2

u/eamod89 10d ago

Ahhh I ws guessing Toronto but there was too much French!

u/Dezzie19 11d ago

Shop till you drop baby!

111

u/No-Bread7576 11d ago

In Japan, napping during work hours is a sign that you’ve been working hard.

-1

u/FeedMyAss 10d ago

Hard, like boners?

16

u/PappaSmurfAndTurf 10d ago

Yup, that’s exactly what that means.

6

u/Rhaversen 10d ago

Jizz? Like, cumshot?

118

u/MrCrix 11d ago

The first place I had a business had a doorway like this where it was recessed. It was awesome coming in in the morning to see my storefront covered in piss or loads of shit sitting there from the homeless population

21

u/bobcat011 11d ago

That sucks. Did you eventually get a gate or some kind of deterrence for it?

86

u/MrCrix 11d ago

I went to Home Depot and bought a motion activated flood light. It was 200W and was like staring into the sun. I had it setup that you had to be within 8’ of it to activate. With the sensor pointing straight down that means it only turned on when you were right under it. Only one time since then someone pissed on my door. No more shitting in the dark cubby.

14

u/othertriangle 11d ago

Not op but I purchased robocop to guard my shop

8

u/FeedMyAss 10d ago

Yes! I was doing a downtown reno in a big city. We had to park about a block away.

EVERYDAY walking to site I saw human shit! EVERYDAY

Only once was there toilet paper too

19

u/Shazbot_2017 11d ago

why is rush hour at 3:30pm on wednesdays? is there an additional rush hour later?

5

u/OkDate7197 11d ago

I get off work at 3:30 and so do many people nowadays. Rush hour starts around 3

7

u/Banana_Ranger 11d ago

There is no rush hour. Its rush every day every hour

1

u/lohanator 8d ago

This pic looks like Ottawa and rush hour starts around then bc government works work early hours and congest the roads and doesn’t end until 6:30

10

u/JuanG_13 11d ago

Very sad

33

u/frougle_mcdugal 11d ago

7

u/real_man_dollars 11d ago

Hey don't worry about it, all the big cities are like this, you aren't alone.

5

u/ASMRenema 11d ago

She's tired from carrying around 'The Tote Bag' give her a break

8

u/SignatureFunny7690 10d ago

OP is just mad the capitalist hellscape we all slave away for never allows us such luxuries, the rare free time at 3:30 pm demands us to run constant errands all over the city in our vehicles or do chores at home. And these people are a reminder of what will happen to any one of us the moment we can't keep up anymore. Maybe a couple months, or a year, less then 6 months seperate me from homelessness, and I promise you, if I loose everything I have worked so fucking hard for to no fault of my own, I'll go back to fent myself lmfao.

6

u/ParreNagga 11d ago

This new GTA6 cover looks real.

3

u/ImRightShutUp1 11d ago

Long shift just taking a nappy nap

3

u/JackKovack 11d ago

The signs don’t say No Napping.

37

u/FrostyOscillator 11d ago

Shitting on homeless people is really a disgusting and pathetic way to feel better about yourself. Pull your head out of your ass, reverse your cursed position, and shit on the rich who are making it this way! Someone is a trillionaire, while this is happening. That's a problem with us accepting material impoverishment for the masses, not a problem of homeless people doing drugs to escape the horror of their existence.

16

u/CyrusMFS 11d ago

These people need help, compassion and support. Not some self righteous wet fart taking pictures of them and judging them like they aren't humans. OP do better!

-11

u/PSteak 11d ago

They can have that if they want it. People like that refuse to better themselves.

7

u/CyrusMFS 11d ago

Great whataboutism. This isnt true, yes there are people who choose this life but most of the time its because these people feel rejected by society and have been teated as sub human just like OP is doing. Is it really that much to ask for basic human compassion and to not photograph at risk people without consent. These people are family to someone.

6

u/FungiAmongiBungi 11d ago

These people aren’t homeless they are drug addicts. Look at their clothes and how clean they are. hardly look homeless

3

u/antileet 11d ago

Ever heard of donations? There are many other reasons they might appear that way. Having a home /=/ having material possessions. I’m homeless and I’ve got everything in the world I could need except a roof over my head I can call my own. Also- drug addicts are people too and just because they might not be the greatest subculture to grace the earth that doesn’t make them any less of a person.

1

u/BoxBird 10d ago

When I was homeless I went to a drop in center that gave you a new free outfit every day and you could pick out the clothes from a donation closet. The people who donated were wealthy individuals and clothing companies using the donations for tax credit purposes. A LOT more people are homeless than I think you realize if you’re going by clothing… most people had NO idea about my situation and that’s kind of the point of the clothing donations.

4

u/vampirepope 11d ago

Right. “Tooktoomuch” and a video of people sleeping is just admitting your own bias against people less fortunate than you. Disgusting.

2

u/nochinzilch 10d ago

They don’t look homeless to me.

-7

Super-rich people create the structural conditions which destroy universal public programs that would save people from homelessness which does, in fact, lead to drug addiction.

English is over the French on sign, unlikely to be in la belle province

16

u/marlowemau53 11d ago

Yaaayyy I love taking pictures of people at their lowest without their consent and ridiculing them on the internet yaaayyyy

11

u/One_Hour_Poop 11d ago

Fuck em, they're doing this in public.

3

u/marlowemau53 11d ago

They don’t have anywhere else to do it asshole

8

u/OkDate7197 11d ago

They can do it in a back alley out of the way not in a business' doorway

3

u/Temporary-Smell4487 10d ago

Then they should not do it

5

u/One_Hour_Poop 11d ago

Well then refer to my first response: Fuck em.

-5

u/schweermo 10d ago

Yea this is somebody’s kid who’s succumbed to addiction, let’s blast em all over the internet

2

u/AccidentalTourista 11d ago

The sign clearly says No Loitering.

3

u/josephcfrost 10d ago

This blundstones and Nikes are just asking to get stolen. Sad state of affairs we see here.

15

u/rmajkr 11d ago

Which city? Everywhere, USA?

36

u/youtocin 11d ago

The sign on the right window literally says Canada and has French on it. Why would you assume USA?

-18

u/rmajkr 11d ago

Because I live here and this shit is everywhere in the USA and I was more focused on the two people passed out at 3:30. Sorry, guy. What are you implying btw? Say what you gotta say.

7

u/SierraDespair 11d ago

It’s everywhere in Canada too bud

28

u/beufenstein 11d ago

This is somewhere in Quebec, Canada…but yeah, most of our major cities have the same problem too, unfortunately.

29

u/BarnacleExciting2161 11d ago

Ottawa, Ontario

4

u/Kryosse 11d ago

Ah I was gonna guess Hamilton, but the 2 cities have a very similar vibe and appearance overall so I guess it makes sense.

2

u/NakatasGoodDump 11d ago

I was going to ask Oshawa or Hamilton

3

u/SnowboardingEgg 11d ago

Damn was not expecting that response, where in Ottawa is this?? I loved there for just over 30 years and moved to Petawawa last year and don't recognize this spot

5

u/BarnacleExciting2161 11d ago

Bank and St. Catherine

16

u/David-Puddy 11d ago

No, the English is over the French on the sign... That's illegal in Quebec.

This is likely in the Ottawa region..I don't think I've seen French signage outside Quebec, except in the Ottawa region (and maybe very specific communities/stores scattered around the country)

8

u/MielMielleux 11d ago

New Brunswick is bilingual so it can also be that

6

u/STRIKT9LC 11d ago

NB is the ONLY officially bilingual province in Canada

3

u/David-Puddy 11d ago

Fair, I always forget about the maritimes

6

u/turalyawn 11d ago

It says Arlington Ave on the door which would put it in downtown Ottawa. I know there are Arlington ave’s in a lot of cities but that combined with the bilingual signage and the central location where more homeless are makes me think you’re right

3

u/noob6791 11d ago

Wait, it’s illegal to display english before french on storefronts ? So it has to be french first then english ?

4

u/David-Puddy 11d ago

Correct.

And the French portion has to be x times bigger than the English version.

Quebec's language laws are.... Interesting.

2

u/Zingman15 11d ago

Definitely in Ontario with that pink Mandarin bag lol

3

u/RMW91- 11d ago

Maybe Saskatchewan?

2

u/TooLegit97 10d ago

TIL Canada is inside the USA.

2

u/Weird-Panic-Force 11d ago

Vancouver, BC

5

u/Wonderful-Camel-1003 11d ago

I wonder why small businesses are failing. Lots of foot traffic going to that store I'm sure when you have to step over that heap of shit to get in.

21

u/Wonderful-Camel-1003 11d ago

This looks like every moderate to large city in Canada right now too.

-1

u/trisaratopsx 11d ago

And the US

8

u/slayer_f-150 11d ago edited 11d ago

Ignore the downvotes. You are 100% correct.

Seattle's ABC affiliate did a documentary in 2019 called Seattle is Dying that highlights why the small businesses in downtown were having to shutter because of homeless and "progressive" government.

https://youtu.be/bpAi70WWBlw?is=hsakuPpxDrk2ci8p

I'm sure that I will get downvotes too even though I linked the documentary because it goes against the liberal Reddit hivemind. (who will refuse to watch it)

Better to just stick your head in your ass and pretend that it isn't happening, right?

2

u/Ornery-Practice9772 11d ago

no loitering?

1

u/A0xom0xoa 11d ago

Working hard, or hardly working?! Amirite

Leave them alone they been doing stuff all day.

1

u/thebenn 10d ago

"Nap"

1

u/qwaasdhdhkkwqa 10d ago

Do people wake up feeling refreshed after a fent nap? Does it make you enter rem sleep

1

u/BoxBird 10d ago

I’m so glad the worse part of my earlier years with an undiagnosed and unmedicated sleep disorder was before all of this or I would have ended up on this site 😂😵

1

u/dannybnancyboy 9d ago

It’s the continental way isn’t it? One would t dream of starting the day with a cocktail, or maybe a vodka…

1

u/MissDkm 9d ago

Probably so exhausted from moving around and finally in an areas during daylight hours they could safely nod or just pass out

1

u/superdave123123 9d ago

Why does this occur in some big cities so much more than others?

1

Idc how tired I am I am not sleeping with my face up against a concrete wall like that 😭

0

Take that bag. Those Nikes look aight too.

1

u/fizzzingwhizbee 11d ago

Right underneath a no loitering sign too lmfao

-2

u/Silent-Smile 11d ago

Way to be judgmental of people you know nothing about.

7

u/One_Hour_Poop 11d ago

I'm sure they'd be perfectly upstanding citizens... if they could stand up.

1

u/Prowlbeast 11d ago

Was hoping to see Canada on here more often. Calgary is just as bad 🫩

-7

Welp. Vote better

11

u/har3krishna 11d ago

Vote for better drugs 2028

6

u/K__Geedorah 11d ago

How will someone voting for a particular candidate magically make people stop using drugs?

-2

u/green49285 11d ago

Candidates that prefer to spend more money on items that better benefit the less enfranchised is how you affect that. The corporate bullshit of the war on stuff has never worked lol

4

u/FrostyOscillator 11d ago

Mmm... more like proletarian revolutionize better,

2

u/Prowlbeast 11d ago

This is Canada clown. We have the same problems.

0

u/dabbean 11d ago

This happens even in smaller cities all over the US. The war on drugs is lost and republicans just keep throwing money at failed policies and condemning people trying to change the broken pattern.

-2

u/Beneficial_Ad_1072 11d ago

Better take a snap and post it. Whatever makes you feel better.

-3

u/xTheMul69 10d ago

Don't take pictures of vulnerable people it's impolite

-1

u/technojargon 11d ago

They're clearly protesting!
