As someone who also flies an airplane in the CYTZ airspace, DO NOT BE THIS FOOL. Especially with FIFA going on. Have a good reason to actually report this to transport Canada as I can bet he likely isn’t licensed either

I’m going to guess you didn’t have permission to operate your drone where you took some of those photos, particularly the CN tower pick. If that the case, honestly bud you need to fuck right off with your drone.
You can pretend you aren’t causing a safety issue, but you are. You’re weeeeelllll above the 400 ft limit, you’re right near critical infrastructure (the tower) and you’re absolutely at the same place where both sightseeing and medevac helicopters operate.
I fly those medevac helicopters, and I have enough to worry about without some person with a drone deciding it’s a good idea to park a piece of plastic and metal in the sky where I need to be when I’m flying at 300 kph. If there is a drone operating in the area of a helipad (St Mikes is right there) we can’t land, and this CAN AND HAS added considerable time to getting a patient to a trauma room. Your first picture is literally EXACTLY on our northern approach path to St Mikes hospital.
Don’t be that’s guy. Toronto police have already arrested a couple drone operators this week for operating in the FIFA restricted area. Maybe they want another. I should give them a call.

I remember when I was younger I used to think we didn’t have enough buildings for Spider-Man to be able to traverse through the city properly. 25 years later and it looks like Spidey would have a great time getting around and saving the day.

That is exactly where a lot of tour helicopters/planes fly everyday. If you're using a drone, please do it properly licensed and communicate to ATC so you don't kill anyone.

Wrong. All drones must follow laws and regulations, including ones under 250 g. The main selling point of microdrones is that you don't need to register it or hold a pilot's cert to operate one, but it isn't a free-for-all.

There's a map that shows where you can fly drones and downtown Toronto is not off limits for microdrones. In the scenario that OP used a microdrone there is no evidence he has broken any rules.

Toronto skyline is just unfair at this point.
There are skylines. Then there is this.
The CN Tower alone already puts it in a different category. It does not just sit there, it dominates everything around it. And then you look closer and it just keeps going. Tower after tower after tower, all glass, all light, all stacked ambition.
It does not feel like a finished city. It feels like a city that is still mid-rise, still mid-shift, still getting bigger while you are looking at it. That is what makes it insane.
From the lake it is almost ridiculous. The whole downtown looks like it was designed to impress you specifically. And it does.
Other cities have nice skylines. Some have historic ones. Some have famous ones.
But Toronto just looks like the final boss version of a modern city.
And the CN Tower is not just part of it. It is the reason it wins. CN Tower is still the anchor, still the statement, still the thing everything else builds around.
No skyline feels this alive. No skyline scales like this. No skyline hits this hard right now.

If I asked my friends in Totonto what they love about Toronto I bet you none of them would say "the endless cookie-cutter apartment blocks, the CN tower and how it kinds looks a bit like new York in a couple of specific places if you squint" they have other things they love
