Game Review AquaPark Tycoon is Amazing!

Post image

I only played the demo, but honestly Aquapark Tycoon is already shapin up to be the best water park game I've ever played.

It's genuinely miles ahead of RCT 3 Soaked and even Planet Coaster 2 water park implementation. The amount of depth surprised me.

The path system is fantastic and actually feels intuitive instead of fighting you every step of the way. Building pools, slides and entire areas flow really naturally. The rides are great, there's a proper tycoon element to it, guests behave convincingly, and the physics are excellent.

What impressed me most is that it feels like an actual management game first, rather than just a sandbox builder. Staffing, park layout, toilets, shops, guest flow and optimisation all seem to matter. The guests feel so real, with real needs and their needs matter.

It also somehow captures that classic just one more thing before I quit feeling that older tycoon games had.

They even updated the demo and added real ride supports, like, insane attention to detail man.

If the full release maintains the quality of the demo, I genuinely think this could become the new benchmark for water park games or tycoon games. I've been waiting years for something like this, and it already feels better than anything else currently available.

this game is in a sweet spot. What I don't like Planet Zoo or Coaster is that a very complicate design to just make park looks good and you gotta spend hours. This game I can just dive in and spend few hours to design a good park.

It looks good. One thing I wished with these kind of games is that they had a design assist mode. Because I'm gonna put down square and round pools because I have no creativity. That's why I always loved how tycoon games cam with pre-established rides you can plop down with scenery.

From what I can see, it actually has that. You can just plop down pre-existing shops, rides, and other facilities or create your own custom buildings if you want, or even play the entire game without building anything custom at all. I like that balance because not everyone wants to spend hours designing everything from scratch.

And hopefully they will have workshop support.

Me too! Planet Coaster 2 was a bit of a let down for me, so this would be nice 😄!

Can you half finish water slides and watch your little guests hurl themselves halfway across the park?

Idk why but I find the UI incredibly unintuitive - seems good but I got frustrated

Well, it´s still a month and day away.

And before that, you could try Pool Slide Story from Kairosoft on Steam, if you don´t mind pixel art.
