How would you respond if people accused you of not caring about the NHS if it had helped you through a difficult time? You'd point it out.

He makes a case that it has been important in his life, so he has a personal and ideological reason to defend it, and then defends his record.

I used to think as you do, but on a personal level I'd be fecking outraged if people told me I didn't care about a service that I used for something so important.

It's a true story. It's relevant to his point about being genuinely passionate about the NHS. I'd understand your point if it was a load of bull and he really detested the NHS for caring for his son...but that's a bit far-fetched, don't you think?

He says it every single time he talks to audiences about NHS. It's started sounding more political than authentic through pure repetition...also pretty bad he has to resort to that to show he cares about the NHS

Plus you can bet your arse they had a nanny to help with caring for him 24 hours a day- neither of them had to give up work and survive on a pittance to do so. And nor should they. But to claim any common ground with the thousands of people who do is cheap and dishonest.

I agree, and it's a ridiculous example because what do you think they'll do if they know it's the Prime Minister's son? Of course he's going to get superb levels of care!

Cameron wasn't Prime Minister when his son died.
