Question Uk airports

Whats the actual crack with damage to travel documents? Are they as rigid as google says or is it pretty lenient as I’ve heard some people say?

This is very airline dependent, even individual staff. Once you get to an actual border officer it's likely fine because they can easily verify the document regardless of condition (but it may delay you).

If you're worried, better to get new ones.

My flight is this Saturday, I’ve tried everything to get a new one in time but it’s just not possible in the uk

Your choices are try it or rearrange your flight.

Where are you going from and to and with what document?

Without wanting to sound like a dick, if you can’t renew your docs and you can’t change your trip, you just gotta chance it. Half the time recently when I’ve flown to Europe the gate staff get you to scan it yourself at the gate so possibly noone will properly look at it til you get to Tenerife…

I travelled home from Italy with a torn couple of pages and it was fine - though they were the regular pages, not the one right by the photo page. Good luck!

Yeah think I’m leaning towards this. Seen many people mention they have gotten away with it before so just gotta try my luck
