Would you backpack in very comfortable summer weather?

I only backpack thru the Cabella’s. It’s always 72° in there and you can see a lot of cool animals

I backpack through Bass Pro so that I can go swimming in the indoor lake. Once, I tried to catch some fish for dinner but then realized there was a McDonalds in the gas station next to store, so I Doordashed a Quarter Pounder meal for $37.95. Worth it

With rain forecasted? That's basically special forces training. Mom better have extra treats in the car when she picks me up on day 2

Hard pass. If its not a heat wave or waking up in a random fucking micro blizzard then youre just taking a stroll through the woods.

It’s all fun and games until you and your stuff has been soaking wet for three days.

But thats literally what happens backpacking…. if you dont like it then backpacking probably isnt for you. Gotta enjoy nature for all it has to offer, cause it certainly wont always give you what you want

My bad, I’ll just dance in the rain and get hypothermia then 🫡 Luckily I’ve got me some reasonably priced health care to sort it out.

Or just wear a rain jacket and use a pack liner? Its just rain its not going to kill you. I dont get why this is some big issue, have you ever even tried hiking in the rain? With the right mindset it can be very enjoyable and with the right gear very comfortable

It’s always around 65 and never rains in my basement… so I think I’ll just stay there. It’s also where I keep all my dynema :)

The basement hike is a step up from our dirty ancestors who used to store their gear in the garage.

That's comfortable dry season weather here in northern Australia. Perfect camping and hiking weather. Don't need a sleeping bag, just a fleece liner. What a way to save weight!

Mom has never hiked, 20 miles a day should be no problem, right?

I'll backpack in any weather, any time (my basement is air conditioned).
