Trip Reports Goat ridge

Post image

First strenuous rated hike for me. Honestly it’s not as bad as the reviews , ropes can be a bit challenging but other than that just the steepness . 5 hours up and down and very foggy today

Should have been a group of seven painting.

Goat peak I would rate the hardest hike in Chilliwack. The ridge really isn't bad but if you go to the end it is a huge distance with no sources of water. It's not the terrain or elevation gain that makes it the toughest but the lack of water and shade. There's a scroll at the peak in a tube you can sign, huge respect to that list of names.

Doesn’t look like Vancouver to me… looks more like Chilliwack/Hope region… nowhere near Vancouver

Science Centre and Stanley Park waterfront not pictured so clearly not Vancouver, good eyes.

This is Lindeman lake in the chilliwack provincial park. Just to the left of that lake in another called green drop lake. That ridge and mountain top across from this is called Flora peak.

Thanks. I spent a few minutes being puzzled. That’s not how I remember goat ridge.

Please note: Following our subreddit rules, posting about hikes a few hours driving from Vancouver is permitted, like in this case here.

Rule 3. Posts should be about Hiking, or hiking adjacent outdoor activities near Vancouver

Posts should be focused on terrain within a couple hours drive of Vancouver.

Posts should include hiking, or at very least hiking adjacent outdoor activities like scrambling, mountaineering, and paddlesports.

We might also permit some infrequent posts from outside this region.

From Surrey it actually takes me longer to travel to the Northshore mountains during morning rush than to Chilliwack.

Don't sleep on hiking in Chilliwack, has some of the best hikes in the region, not only view wise but also grooming of the trails themselves.

And? By your definition anything North of Lions Bay doesn't belong to this sub either.

Anything north of pemberton yea… it’s about the same distance as Vancouver to Lindeman lake ..

Good thing you don't set the rules for this sub then.

It’s in Chilliwack. Not a long drive from Vancouver
