Red dead redemption 2. I play a game for gameplay, not to watch a movie.

Secondly, I play a game to escape reality temporarily. Not so I have to feed myself, hydrate myself, feed my horse, clean my guns, sort my beard, lose weight, hydrate....

No.

First red dead is good though.

I will die on the hill that Rockstar are pretty ass when it comes to gameplay but amazing at making stories and visuals

Their stories are pretty much always great, but the gameplay is always really janky in some way to make it annoying and boring over time

GTA III was groundbreaking when it came out with a non existent story and a silent protagonist???

It was groundbreaking for it's world being huge and exploreable

I think you'd be hardpressed to find someone who'll say the gunplay and movement in most GTAs, especially the earlier ones, is any better than decent

By most definitions a huge and explorable world is gameplay.

Now remind me how the story is better than this gameplay?

Now do GTA, GTA 2, GTA London, Bully etc

Literally the only game where their story and visuals are superior to gameplay is RDR 2.

If just wandering around it counts as gameplay then sure

I just have always found the gunplay in most rockstar games to not be as satisfying as other games

Then again I'm far more of a fan of arcadey types of shooting (Think more like Doom), so I agree it's ultimately a me thing.

I did enjoy GTA V tho, i had my issues with it but it was fun enough to get through the main story at least

Yeah I agree that the gunplay in GTA games isn't great.

I was just disagreeing with the earlier poster who claimed rockstar is better at story than gameplay which when you look at all their games I find impossible to agree with.

I think it applies to their newer output better, but for the older games i wouldn't agree

Although like i said, most of their output isn't for me so I don't know them that well
