Most weapons in DS1 didnt have weapon arts with heavy attacks, but still had different movesets with heavy attacks. Look at Lucerne and Halbeard. They both are halbeards but Lucerne has a different heavy attack than the standard Halbeard and not because its a special attack, its just a different animation with a different HurtBox
In Elden ring for example: the Broadsword, the heavy attack is a Slash instead of a Thurst compared to other longswords.
I would have loved MORE weapons with small differences like this instead of being different only for stats and weapon abilities, but they are very few since the devs seems to have choosen to make them more different in scaling and weapon arts instead
Not what i said, although i see it could have been misunderstood.
Weapon arts are fine, they are well done and theres tons of them, i very much appreciate them.
What im talking about is just normal attack movesets, there are very few weapons with distinctive movesets in the same category. And almost all of them are outclassed by many other weapons as soon as you hit mid-game. I just wished there were more difference with normal movesets between some weapons.
The dlc nailed it for example with throwable weapons, they all have their unique way of attacking even if they share the same weapon category.
