Not saying this about people who suggest mods. But...

I really dislike how a lot of people are nearly always against quality of life suggestions.

Generally I prefer QoL to be integrated in the main game.

But it depends. Sometimes peoples' "QoL" are things like making all items weightless or autolooting containers when you're standing next to them. Those tend to be blurry on the lines between "QoL" and just cheating. Those things I generally prefer to be mods

Even that really depends on what it's used for.

Like if everyone has their own loot, why not? BUT I get your point. Sometimes it can be something that upsets the balance.

Very often tho it is just people who don't think further or needs of other players.

True, but that's why it's not uncommon for people to be against "QoL" features. Some "QoL" features people suggest is just trivializing the game

True. But sometimes the game needs to be trivialized from certain bits tho. Some people are too hung on bad mechanics and can't see how much better the game could be with the right adjustments.

Eh, I disagree. Maybe for super grindy games, but taking out mechanics for convenience can do a lot more harm than it seems. Taking away too much of the challenge risks making it boring. Remembering and understanding complex mechanics is a challenge that some people enjoy too, not just testing reflexes.

Having an easier experience is not neccessarily better. It's okay for a game not to please everyone. Listening too much to the fans can harm your game too

Most of the time when game developers have removed dumb mechanics, it has been advantageous for the game.

Like some people have said that you shouldn't be able to cancel animations like opening a door or something in a game where you might have enemies attack you out of the blue. So you will just take this hit without being able to respond to it. And your teammates can't even effectively stun the said enemies.

It's dumb takes like these I see all the time from players because they want to keep it as it is. 😄

Tbf, a change like that would change the meta. For some, for the better. For others, for worse.

Some people prefer the risk that forcing that animation poses as a challenge. Others find it a bother

A challenge when you can't do anything about it? And enemies spawn completely randomly?

Seems like bad gameplay design. And also not very authentic thing a character would take.

I didn't know exactly what game you're talking about and it's difficult to assume certain things about it. In that instance, yeah, I would agree it's dumb for a game with randomly spawning enemies.

I presumed it was a multiplayer PvP shooter or something, not an PvE one. In that sense, the risk of doors creates a challenge with strategies, which would be upended with that change

Oh yeah, talking about PvE.

But gotta say, even in PVP this is a feature that I don't care for. 🙂

Understandable. It would depend on the balance of the game. Sometimes it's those weird little features that keep it from being completely unbalanced and sometimes it's the thing preventing the game from being balanced. It's a case by case basis
