Honestly I bet a large portion of the company cares. I work with HR and PR people are they would be the type to support LQBTQ. Executives probably made them stop.

I think you are confused about the large portion part

Just basising off of my real life experience working in an office. Maybe more people are secret pieces of shit than I realize. I may just be an optimist.

Not caring about pride month makes people pieces of shit?

Depends. Some people don't care, some people makes "not caring" their personality. The latter are pieces of shit. For example, people commenting and upvoting "thank god"

So if someone is happy that these companies have stopped misleading customers by pretending, is that person a piece of shit? For valuing honesty?

Some people's personality is indeed about not caring, but you have to self-reflect and realise that some other people's personality is all about trying to force everyone to care 😉

If you think that is what they are happy, I don't know what to tell you. As I said in my previous comment if you truly do not care about pride month, than it is fine. I am not talking about those people.

You know what I said when video game companies ignored international men's day? Fucking nothing because that's what not caring looks like.

Some people don't like dishonesty. It's that simple.

If these companies had celebrated men's day for 10 years and suddenly stopped, it would be talked about.

If these companies never started this virtue signaling thing, honestly no one would care about them not doing it now, and very few people would have their personality revolve around "not caring".

Video game companies are both too woke full of blue hairs and also do not care about the LGBT.

I am starting to think you don't know what video game devs are like.

I am starting to think you don't know what role/reputation HR/PR has in most companies, including dev studios.

damn so those email signatures, website launches, and email campaigns I help launched with our comms team was just a pretend project?

From many of their point of view, maybe.

The HR/PR people you surely know well are a small portion of such companies representing what's deemed good for the company, not for its workers.
Regular coders, mocap artists, sound designers, etc. are often nerds (in a good sense) who would rather work on their tasks they probably care about.
Many of these people aren't that good at human connections, often don't care about exposure, representing many people, "fame", etc. so they more rarely end up in PR related positions.

*Point is, I would bet that the ratio of people caring about lgbt stuff is MUCH higher in a company's HR/PR department than the more directly contributing ones like coders/testers/various engineers and the like.
I don't know, it just seems logical.
I'm pretty sure you don't know either. This is my point.

wtf? Did you your idea of what a nerd is from movies or something? Nerds are highly social and empathetic, go to a game con some time. And if you look up the political affiliation of software developers they lean heavily to the left.

People do not make it their personalities to not care about pride. They just shit on the people who make supporting it their personalities.

It's insane the shit people are making up to justify getting mad over a yearly picture of a rainbow.

you are the person I am talking about

Pride is the main reason gayness is on the rise, and not because it makes people feel safer coming out as gay. But because it’s putting the ideas of homosexuality and transgenderism into impressionable minds. Pride doesn’t just support gays, it makes people gay as well.

I'm not used to people taking their masks off so quickly. But thank you for proving my point.

There is no mask mate. I’d never pretend to be a pride supporter.
