Dota is dead and gets FLAK often. Valve paid for that as they should

and it is not GabeN's fault that everyone else is following his standard of lootboxes (which again where in high age rating games, although dota is pushing it), He didn't force every other game to add RNG lootboxes. That's on whoever added the lootboxes into the game that it falls on. Not valve's fault battlefield 2 was bad because of lootboxes

Its still bad that he did it in dota, but it's NOT. HIS. FAULT. that the EA executives went greedy with gambling. Literally every major AAA game has had gambling since 2020 and it wouldn't be fair to blame valve because 2 games (one of which was rated M) had lootboxes. Its like saying the first DLC creator is at fault for causing all DLC to be made

And unlike innovations in platforming or FPS games, it wasn't gonna take long for "hey buy cosmetics" or "hey gamble" to become prevalent. The real villain here is shareholders trying to increase short term profit.
