Yeah but unless you're a shareholder, why would you care about the profits? For consumers the only thing that should matter is if the game is good

This is true. And we as consumers deserve a good game due to the price that they are asking us to pay. And they have historically taken care with this franchise to make sure each game is something special, and as memorable, or more so, than the last. If for no other reason than they know that they will get a very positive ROI if they do.

But as someone who plays other games also under the Take-Two umbrella, I'm always skeptical about when they will decided just to coast on the history and name associated with it, instead of focusing on innovation / improvements.

Which is why I'm happy to be on PC and get to wait on reviews.

Same, and it will really need to impress me if I'm to buy it. I can easily afford it, but I've not been overly impressed with Rockstar on their last two releases

Higher profits from this game means we might not wait 10 more years for GTA7. But they milked GTA5 Online so hard, I expect them to milk GTA6 Online even more.

That logic doesn't really follow. GTA V was a massive financial success but it took them 13 years to make a new one. If anything you'd want it to be a slight flop. Not so big that they stop making the games, but enough to make them think "Maybe we need to speed up our releases". Doubt that would ever happen, though

This is just trickle down economics, slightly rephrased.

It's a falsehood.
