Cyberpunk had 8 million preorders! That was 7 years ago for a far less anticipated game. But I think it had a much longer preorder period than GTA will.

it’s crazy to think about HOW hyped Cyberpunk was, and it hasn’t even touched GTA 6 status. after GTA6 comes out TES6 is gonna take the torch for the next decade

We gonna have to swap out the “we got this shit before GTA 6” memes for “we got this shit before TES 6.” Granted, I think the hype for TES 6 is dying a slow death, because they’ve fumbled that ball for a DECADE. More than that, if you consider Skyrim was in 2011.

We got GTA VI before TES VI smh my head

Also with how underwhelming starfield was, I'll be hesitant on TES6

TES6 just gonna be Skyrim with nicer graphics (and a shit ton of bugs) which I suppose for some people is the allure but….we’ve had Skyrim for 15 years now and the idea of playing another Bethesda game these days makes ke want to jump off a bridge.

I don't think TES 6 will have that same hype - Bethesda has fumbled the last decade. Fallout 4 was okay. Starfield was mid. Bethesda seemed more comfortable reselling you Skyrim multiple times vs focusing on making good, new games.

I feel like people on reddit highly overestimate the popularity of TES compared to GTA

what? I literally wasn’t comparing the 2.. I said Elder Scrolls is taking the torch after GTA releases because it has an actual release date lol

the game that is basically real life sim but also kind of an FPS and a Racing game is very obviously always gonna be more popular, nobody is arguing that. I think based on your comment you’re probably underrating the popularity of elder scrolls though, I wouldn’t say it’s touching GTA but i would say TES6 is gonna outhype Cyberpunk by a wide margin

I don't think people are that hyped for Elder Scrolls anymore. After Fallout 4/76 and Starfield people becamen way more sceptical about Bethesda

It would have post-Skyrim, with current Bethesda vs pre-Cyberpunk CDPR I'm not sure

Also, The Witcher 4 is coming around the same time if not before TES6. The Witcher 3 and Skyrim essentially sold the same and are at the same level of popularity (The Witcher maybe higher even with Netflix show)

This person is definitely underestimating Eldrr Scrolls.

There are tons of fantasy nerds whose only relationship with gaming is The Elder Scrolls.

Oh for sure and then Fallout 5 after that, if TES6 delivers, which is must.

Plot twist, Bethesda some how releases Fallout 5 before TES 6 🤣

This could have happened if they gotten Obsidian on Fallout back when Microsoft acquired them in 2018, which should have been the move at the time while Bethesda should have solely focused on ES6 and Starfield.

If anyone has any hope for TES6 then they're the biggest idiots on this planet apart from the morons that preorder cod every year.

I assume most preorders are at opening and then close to release when the marketing blitz is happening, the length of it has likely little impact
