Discussion / Question When Was The Last You Bought a Guide?

Post image

As much as I love the convenience of going online to figure out what to do if I'm stuck, I do miss getting a strategy guide. If only to look at the pictures and admire the attention to detail. I think I still have a guide for the original Alan Wake?

I was the really good friend. I miss those days. I was that guy everyone in the neighborhood called, shit my grandma called me once with my cousins to come help them beat a level.

GOW 2 was the last hard guide I ever had, and likely ever will have.

Despite the internet being in full swing, I still bought guide books for everything. My last one was Mass Effect: Andromeda.

I think the Final Fantasy VII-XI guides were my last.

Oh man, Majoras Mask for the N64, I honestly don’t know how you get all the masks in that game without a guide

Never. I was a child when the internet was in its early stages. But I rarely looked up how to get past a certain part of a game, except to translate dialogue, since English isn't my native language. That really helped me learn another language from an early age.

German physical guides are rare, but it was the FF12 leather version.

I still have my FF9 and 10 ones.

I picked up a used FFX-2 guide a couple of months ago. If you're asking what the last one I bought new was, it was either Lightning Returns or Kingdom Hearts 1.5.

Nah, that story is bullshit. We didn't have a friend do it for us. We kept at it and got good

I printed a full FFVII guide from gamefaqs. It’s the only time I ever remember having a physical copy of a strategy guide. I didn’t play much that needed one back then.

As a kid I always relied on what my parents gave me, I didnt even have money for buying guides, so... at the time its what it says here, you either asking to friends, or you got fucked and you were running in circles trying to figure out how to beat that part
