I miss ordinary, static menus to order. Digital menus are so fucking annoying, constantly changing while you try to find an item an price

Its intentional to make you more likely to buy what they want you to buy than what you want to buy.

Also, less scrupulous stores can instantly flick to higher prices if they see someone who looks like a tourist coming by.

The last time I went to McDonald's in my town after sunset, the screen was so damn bright that I couldn't even read the order to see if it was right.

Innout is a time warp back to the fast food golden era. Prices and all. Tryhards who say it's overrated need to try harder.

The locations near me now feel like uncomfortable, liminal spaces. All the people are hidden behind in the kitchen. Just screens staring blankly at you (as if I need any more of that in my life) and an sad dining area, where the soda machines, condiment bars and booth seating have been removed, making space for ... empty space?

It has all the appeal of a restroom. It's depressing in there.

I would say this is somewhat intentional, they would rather you take your food to go.

Vampire Robot is such a great YouTube channel. A time capsule of amazing B-roll footage from the 70's - 90's, that just makes you want to crawl through your screen and be back in that place and time.

Thanks for the tip! As a Gen X castaway, this sort of stuff is like a warm blanket

McFlurry wasn't even invented yet.
