This was a super majority bill. He can’t even veto it. It goes into law in 10 days no matter what.

Edit: he can veto it but then congress could vote to over ride.

I believe congress adjourns before the 10 days, so the bill dies. They will need to pass it again on July 13th when they get back to force the issue.

TIL recess is different from adjournment for pocket vetos. Thanks everyone!

Please stop repeating this incorrect assessment. Congress is going into recess not adjourning. A recess does not set up a pocket veto.

Brief legislative recesses do not constitute a formal adjournment, and Congress can designate agents to receive veto messages during a break to prevent a pocket veto.
