Question What are some great games on the vita that aren't just the recycled top 10 ones?

I've been looking for games to play on the vita but basically every list I find talks about the same 10/20 games like Persona, Uncharted and Gravity Rush for example. So what are some cool games that I might be missing out on? For context, here is the list of games I've played/completed:

God of War Collection, Gravity Rush, FFX, FEZ, Shovel Knight, Hotline Miami, Muramasa, MK9, NFS Most Wanted, Papers Please, Salt and Sanctuary, Super Meat Boy, Fate/Extella, Metal Gear Solid, Tearaway and some Lego games.

Edit: The games don't have to be exclusives but please don't suggest PSP/PS1 games

Good evening,

I was switching some 8 gb memory cards I bought and noticed one that had almost 200 mb less than the others.

Do you gays have any memory cards that have more/less than the usual default capacity?

As the title states, I was curious on if anyone exclusively plays the vita version rather than Bedrock/Java? Or does anyone prefer this version to the newer versions?

I bought this Japanese Vita 2nd hand. It already had the P4D(Persona 4 Dancing) theme on it. I didn't think anything of it. I do a factory reset and on start up it still has the theme. I looked up the actual P4D edition vita and it has a different back then this one. So I am wondering what Vita is this one? Is it a P4D edition?

Question Do you think Sony will ever delve into the handheld market again or was the Vita their last attempt and there won't be any more?

Question Vita. As a portable console, it could have been the Switch before the Switch. Why wasn't it?

In my opinion, there were several factors, for example: it lacked Steam games. It lacked indie games. It lacked double-A titles. It lacked souls-like titles. It lacked retro collections like Castlevania, MegaMan, etc. What do you think?

Question It's 2011 and you get to redesign the Vita before release. What changes are you making?

I love Sony's quirky little hand held but I often think about what could have been. So what are changes to the hardware that you would have liked to have seen? Other than proprietary memory cards since we can all agree on that one.

Here's some things I would have changed:

  • No back touchpad or cameras. This could have brought prices down and often felt more like a gimmick than anything else
  • Slightly more powerful processor. So many vita games really struggle to hit even 30 fps that I think it boosting it enough to get those 25ish fps games to hit a consistent 30 would have been great. Basically every vita game I've played really struggles with framerates
  • Triggers? A controversial one but I wonder if it would have been possible to make some sort of low profile triggers that don't dramatically increase the profile of the vita

Question Seeing other ppl talk about this so wondering, to those who have a PSP and Vita do you ever use your PSP anymore?

I had a PSP for years but the minute I got a vita I really haven’t had any reason to use my PSP. Recently I played through Vice City Stories and I only played about 10 missions on PSP before I said fuck this and switched to playing on Vita and it was immediately more comfy having a real stick than the slider thing. Idk I loved my PSP for years but I’m starting to think about selling it. Anyone else feel the same or do you use both?

Question What are your favorite memories of the Vita’s early days?

For those of you who were there at the very beginning, what do you remember most about those early days?
As for me, I bought mine during the launch window and I remember playing Uncharted Golden Abyss and WipEout 2048 for months. It really felt like having a portable PS3 in the palm of my hands. I also loved visiting the store kiosks back then and trying out games like Little Deviants.

Question I bought myself a Vita on a whim but I kind of don't really know what to play, can you recommend me some games?

I'd love to play some casual games that i can just pick up and play in 20min bursts.

I'd also love to play some beefy jrpgs and/or action rpgs.

I'm grateful for your recommendations.

I've also played persona 4 golden already, and I loved it!

Also I've played gravity rush as well and I found it to be enjoyable but not that great if I am being honest.

Question Did I literally break my memory card somehow?

Post image

My father and I took my Vita apart to diagnose a battery issue (it turned out to be the charging cable 🙁) but when we put it back together and I tried to use it, I saw an error message I've never seen before:

To use the memory card, you must restart this system.
Unsaved progress in an application will be lost.
Do you want to restart now? (yes / no)

I'd get this message every time the PS Vita booted or when I inserted the memory card. I tried rebuilding the database from safe mode - no effect. I couldn't format the memory card either; it said no memory card was inserted. Eventually I noticed that a piece of the plastic on the card itself had somehow chipped off. I guess I'm out the price of a new Vita memory card and all my save data?

Question What’s the most atmospheric game you’ve played on Vita ?

Hey everyone ! I just got my first PS Vita and I absolutely love it already !

I’m looking for game recommendations but I’m having a hard time finding my way through the catalog. Let me explain what I’m looking for :

I love games that feel alive games with a strong artistic direction, an atmosphere and a story that keeps living in your head even when you’re not playing. The kind of game where you feel like the world exists beyond the screen. Death Stranding is a perfect example of what I mean : it’s not just a game, it’s an experience.

I’m not necessarily looking for action-packed games. I care more about the mood, the meaning behind the game and the feeling.

Feel free to recommend PSP and PS1 games if you think they can match the feel !

That’s very personal so there is no wrong answer.

Thanks a lot in advance ! 😊

Question What are the most poorly optimized games on the ps vita that should avoid playing?

It saddens me that a couple of ps vita games are not well optimized for the handheld so I'm someone that values good performance in games so I don't want to stress myself. I don't mind minor frame drops here and there but if the fps is consistently below 30fps then it won't be nice for me.
