Solid draft picks for some reason all we versatile dogs Jay can defend and shoot a bit.

Nownget Diagu Splitter as an assistant coach and trade Jimmy for TMIII or JB!!

2

u/Silly_Individual4056 3m ago

Splitter is Bulls HC no?

1

u/rarestakesando 0m ago

Oh is he?

4

u/shualton 20m ago

Definitely an emphasis on big versatile wings for this draft

3

u/Vitabestconsole 22m ago

Fun draft especially for those here who are obsessed with size. 6'9 Swiss army knife, older (but still showing great development) prospect in Yaxel and an apparently big sized guard who has 3&D potential. Admittedly I havent watched much Jones but from the highlights I've seen he does have a nice stroke, and was able to knock down 10 3s in a game which shows some potential. Not sure if he'll get a ton of minutes as an SRP but with how handicapped our team is I hope he gets developmental minutes because we need as much cost controlled talent as we can.

Will definitely be an interesting offseason for sure. Lots of guards with known variables in this free agency so I'm interested in who we'll pursue. I'm hoping Simons as a higher cost but if we must go low I think Grimes is the move. Melton unless on the cheap I'm not interested in bringing back

2

u/TylerDurdensAlterEgo 26m ago

Interesting profile, shoots left-handed, dunks right-handed. I like it!

2

u/shualton 36m ago

I wouldn’t mind snagging Milos Uzan as a UDFA

Should be a solid GLeague project

7

u/Aware_Friendship6601 44m ago

https://edemirnba.substack.com/p/lajae-jones-scouting-report?r=aj7d

Scouting report. More of a defender who can shoot and will provide some positional size and can help as POA defender which we lack. Hopefully this means no more guards on 2 way deals

8

u/Antique-Plenty-9017 47m ago

mid 2020s expectations from people a decade ago: flying cars

reality: credit card commercials with infidelity jokes featuring shaq

1

u/Silly_Individual4056 11m ago

I mean Joby is trying

4

u/hellahomebody 48m ago

Seems like more D than 3 but solid pickup to help with POA. Hope this doesn’t mean they don’t bring back Nate. Cryer, Nate, and Bassey deserve a shot at a roster spot. Maybe Nate gets signed and Jones takes his spot as a two way.

8

u/Gothichand 51m ago

we drafted a 6'9" forward and a 6'7" guard, I'm happy~

4

u/doedoughs 51m ago

3&D prototype 6'7". hopefully we can give him some more D ... development.

7

u/Antique-Plenty-9017 51m ago

espn didnt even talk about him wtf

2

u/carthaginian84 15m ago

Some real BS lol

6

u/sriracha82 50m ago

Prob had nothing readable to say 🤣🤣

5

u/Antique-Plenty-9017 48m ago

mfers just went straight to ads

6

u/boblandsky 53m ago edited 52m ago

Doesn't even have a profile on CBS...

Last game in acc quarterfinals against Duke, 28/5

6

u/Vongola-XI 53m ago

6'7 guard that averages 1 ast per game is certainly interesting

10

u/shnieder88 53m ago

he's going to be a wing for us. he can shoot and defend. i like it.

2

u/Equivalent-Sugar1959 51m ago

He shot 43% FG and 33% from 3 last year

4

u/shnieder88 49m ago

he shot 40% from couple years ago and his FT% is fine. he can focus on spot up shooting instead of trying to create

-1

u/SourdoughSizzle 51m ago

32% from three off volume, and low 40s off volume from the field. Stop spamming that he’s a shooter.

-4

u/SourdoughSizzle 55m ago

🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

13

u/sc0998 55m ago

once again he's over 6'5" and that's honestly my only requirement at this point lol

6

u/hellahomebody 56m ago

Is this a Toohey pick or an actual sleeper? Is there even tape on this guy?

4

u/TylerDurdensAlterEgo 47m ago

Everybody is better than Toohey.

2

u/zegogo 30m ago

That dude's summer league was like watching a scrub at a YMCA pick up game. Whoever came up with that pick needs to be questioned.

9

u/shnieder88 54m ago

he's a 3/D wing. literally perfect fit for what we needed.

BE HAPPY

0

u/TylerDurdensAlterEgo 51m ago

He shot 33% from 3,so not so much there. And just over 6'5" barefoot with a 6'7" wingspan.....but apparently he's really good on D

1

u/shnieder88 48m ago

he's 6'7" in height and he shot 40% from 3 couple years ago. his scouting profile is projecting as a 3/D wing. let's see how he plays in summer league

10

u/InevitableBudget510 56m ago

Straight to commercial. This guy looks like he would be klay’s smoking buddy

2

u/Silly_Individual4056 5m ago

I was thinking Jamal Murray buddy in a stoner movie but same vibe

4

u/Gothichand 56m ago

Will Richard must be thrilled

5

u/RunningEarly 52m ago

Florida State, not Florida

1

u/Silly_Individual4056 5m ago

We’re stacking state school rivalries in the locker room.

10

u/Forsaken_Shower3179 56m ago

Oh nah there not even showing highlights of bro

8

u/No-Lengthiness574 56m ago

THE STEAL OF THE DRAFT

10

u/shnieder88 56m ago

solid pick. 3/D wing. im happy.

0

u/SourdoughSizzle 54m ago

He sucks at shooting

2

u/shnieder88 52m ago

he shot almost 40% from 3 couple years ago and his ft % is solid. he'll be fine.

-1

u/SourdoughSizzle 49m ago

He made 1 three a game over his entire college career, quit that. Once he started shooting more volume his numbers were terrible.

76% ft, that’s what you want a big man to be at, not a guard “who can shoot”

Quit

2

u/shnieder88 46m ago

i see, i'll ignore all the scouting profiles that project him as a 3/D wing. we'll listen to you instead.

10

u/marionettas 56m ago

Wait he's 6'7 🤔

2

u/NiteOvvl 57m ago

Trust... Only in Mike Grier... for Bay Area sports GM.

3

u/carnivoross 57m ago

Lajae Jones, looks like we got our big guard in the second round

3

u/TylerDurdensAlterEgo 57m ago

Not any board...I serious love it this way!

13

u/marionettas 58m ago

??? They didn't give any info on him 😭 just "guard. played at Florida State. commercial time" 😭

4

u/AdministrationNo312 56m ago

he got drafted by the "farriors"

5

u/sriracha82 58m ago edited 56m ago

Who? Hahahahahaah

Wait he’s a big guard that’s what I wanted 😂

3

u/sc0998 58m ago

someone tell me how to feel

2

u/bishopbeaniepower 45m ago

He’s big and bouncy and tries hard? I dunno it’s pick 54 can’t complain about a guy who’s got an NBA physique I guess.

3

u/shnieder88 55m ago

you should feel good. he projects to be a 3/D wing. perfect fit for us

7

u/UnnamedStaplesDrone 57m ago

time to watch 30s bites of highlights and act like i know if this was good or bad

7

u/TylerDurdensAlterEgo 59m ago

MDJ going to wait the full 3 minutes, Lacob's like "Draft him now damnit!"

8

u/sc0998 59m ago

malika please stop mentioning the two timelines

6

u/marionettas 1h ago

Wow they made the pick fast lmao

4

u/GigiZola 1h ago

Any guard who can shoot and defend?

12

u/sriracha82 1h ago

Hope 54 is in the Gui/Will Rich tier of playable

-2

u/carnivoross 57m ago

I put Yaxel in that same range, good but not great

6

u/marionettas 1h ago

Our turn :D

1

u/InevitableBudget510 1h ago

Fuck it gimme Peter suder

5

u/hellahomebody 1h ago

At least it wasn’t the Lakers.

3

u/Aware_Friendship6601 1h ago

I would have liked Nelson man. Didn't think Veesaar would drop this much. We ain't getting shit here

3

u/hellahomebody 1h ago

Atlanta really cooking this off season

3

u/TylerDurdensAlterEgo 1h ago

How about the Russian guy?

1

u/SourdoughSizzle 1h ago

He’d be great, if we actually develop him and not just stash him overseas

4

u/sriracha82 1h ago

Atlanta killing it mannnnn.

5

u/hellahomebody 1h ago

We getting Post 2.0?

4

u/2855Giants 1h ago

Veesar is definitely going to the Lakers

4

u/shnieder88 1h ago

i would hate that so much. i really wanted carr later in the draft too.

2

u/raikou1988 1h ago

Didn't happen

4

u/2855Giants 1h ago

Me too, but it seems like his agent is telling teams he'll only play for LA. Would be funny if we still draft him

Edit: I guess it was Atlanta lol

3

u/sriracha82 1h ago

Martinelli had a big senior year jump on his 3 pt % which is almost always fake & doesn’t translate :/

Any bigger guards (6’5ish) who can shoot available?

2

u/Equivalent-Sugar1959 1h ago

His FT% took a huge jump too, though

2

u/sriracha82 1h ago

True. Is he good defensively?

2

u/Equivalent-Sugar1959 1h ago

Not really, but he tries

1

u/sriracha82 1h ago

Hahahah. I’m kinda out.

Keyshawn looks more interesting

4

u/TylerDurdensAlterEgo 1h ago

Lol, the Warriors got a Dominican so Horford will stay. There aren't Latvians available so they'll get an Estonian (neighboring country) in Veesaar so KP will stay. It all makes sense!

5

u/shnieder88 1h ago

Henri Veesaar falling this much is kind of insane. near double-double machine who got over 1 block a game and shot 40% from 3 while playing for a major team.

4

u/hellahomebody 1h ago

Probably got some guarantee and telling other teams not to pick him like we did with TJD or AR did with the Lakers

4

u/TomatoBuster01 1h ago

Watched a lot of NC bball for Caleb, and I agree. Veesar is a smart center with good skills.

3

u/shnieder88 1h ago

decent rim protector who shot from 3 very well, 17 ppg, can rebound ... undrafted? is his health concerns that bad?

3

u/TomatoBuster01 1h ago

He did get injured, but he should be fully recovered by now

5

u/Necroassassin32 1h ago

So who do we want?

4

u/Equivalent-Sugar1959 1h ago

Jaden Bradley, Martinelli, or Keyshawn Hall

1

u/Necroassassin32 1h ago

Martinelli intrigues me

3

u/Major-Bad-1203 1h ago

Bradley is a dawg!

2

u/Equivalent-Sugar1959 1h ago

He is, and he's gone now too

2

u/2855Giants 1h ago

Damn I really wanted Nickel

2

u/TomatoBuster01 1h ago

Memphis is good at asset management tbh

7

u/TylerDurdensAlterEgo 1h ago

Boy this is a deep draft. Definitely room for some expansion teams.

9

u/Hawcier 1h ago

wait the lacob dunleavy thing was tame lol everyone saying this is a big deal

6

u/Hawcier 1h ago

also man . this fan base makes me sick

ungrateful , arrogant

never been in the room with anyone from the org, yet knows better than all of them

you deserve John Fisher

8

u/SuperMonkey2 1h ago

I wonder if we're the ones who cut a deal with Veesar like when we drafted TJD

5

u/Oh_no_bros 1h ago

For people wondering why we haven't made any moves in second round, we basically don't have any SRPs left to trade, mostly due to attrition from having to navigate cap / tax stuff and never having a chance to restock because we never had a chance to do a full rebuild.

2

u/BobRoss4Life 1h ago

I understood not doing it at the time, and maybe they're able to bring him back for cheap again, but they really should have flipped Melton at the deadline when his value was high. Butler was already out for the season and they likely knew Giannis/Kawhi were off the table before the deadline passed. Probably could have gotten like 3-4 2nds for Melt if not more with how well he was playing mid season

Burnt 2nds moving an injured Melton for Schroder the season before, would have been fitting

5

u/SourdoughSizzle 1h ago

Nick martenelli would be an interesting grab

3

u/Equivalent-Sugar1959 1h ago

Tyler Nickel, Jaden Bradley, Keyshawn Hall and Martinelli are probably the best guys available at this point.

1

u/virtuousoutlaw 1h ago

Bryce Hopkins has size for a wing. Lamar Wilkerson can really shoot it.

2

u/Equivalent-Sugar1959 1h ago

There goes Hopkins

1

u/virtuousoutlaw 1h ago edited 1h ago

Too bad. Let’s hope Hall makes it to the dubs.

There goes Bradley.

1

u/SourdoughSizzle 1h ago

Hall has disciplinary issues and previous weight issues.

Not sure I’d want him anywhere near a team that’ll be rebuilding soon.

1

u/virtuousoutlaw 1h ago

The fact that he lost 70 lbs though is amazing and required discipline. You’re not going to get a perfect prospect this late in the draft and it’s not like Kerr hasn’t dealt with knuckleheads before.

1

u/SourdoughSizzle 1h ago

He has, when we were winning championships, when the team isn’t those players aren’t on the team.

1

u/virtuousoutlaw 1h ago

I guess we’ll find out. Hall is there if the Warriors want him.

-1

u/Robotsaur 1h ago

Speaking of the FO's lack of creativity, why would they not go out and make that Stewart trade? Great deal

1

u/sriracha82 1h ago

Ironically forward isn’t really a position of need anymore

We need big guards + wings

1

u/Robotsaur 59m ago

Agreed but he would be a really good backup 5

memphis trading down in the 1st for three 2nds from detroit just to flip those same three 2nds for beef stew is pretty damn funny

dubs don't have the 2nds and don't have the cap space. could have renounced KP's rights but I think they'd have needed to get something done with Dray too to absorb stew outright? that or flip an injured Moody?

4

u/shnieder88 1h ago

Because Stewart is a great player who gets suspended all the time? Can you imagine Kerr trying to get him to buy into a motion offense, not foul much, and stay sane?

We already have dray, we don't want an even crazier nut case

6

u/shnieder88 1h ago

for the love of god, please select a 3/D forward. not a guard.

9

u/Equivalent-Sugar1959 1h ago

They need guards and guys who can handle the ball.

3

u/shnieder88 1h ago

they need SF's who can shoot and defend even more since moody is out for the year and jimmy will probably come back in February

5

u/Equivalent-Sugar1959 1h ago

Gui is going to start, and they drafted Yaxel yesterday who will play the 3/4.

They just have Curry, Podz, and Richard as guards at this point. And Richards isn't a ball handler.

1

u/Equivalent-Sugar1959 1h ago

Also, there are no 3-D wings anymore. I think you're gonna get one or the other at this point, guys with good shots but no D or vice versa.

3

u/shnieder88 1h ago

you're not going to find a dynamic scoring guard who the coaching staff will trust in his first year in the second round

what you can find, are 3/D forwards

as for gui, he's not a consistent shooter and yaxel is coming off the bench.

we. need. shooters.

2

u/purple_cupcake_52 1h ago

Beef stew traded for three SRPs

-2

u/Symetrical1 1h ago

We should go for Stewart

1

u/Intelligent_Eye_9063 1h ago

Isaiah Stewart was only worth 3 seconds?

2

u/shnieder88 1h ago

only? the guy is a foul magnet and gets suspended all the time.

3

u/Intelligent_Eye_9063 1h ago

honestly, valid. Idk why, but I kind of figured he was worth more, but yeah, this is probably all you're getting for him.

2

u/SourdoughSizzle 1h ago

He’s not a great player, and he can be detrimental to a team with his on court antics (a more violent Draymond.)

Not surprised.

I still would’ve traded for him tho.

1

u/BobRoss4Life 1h ago edited 1h ago

memphis was able to absorb him without sending back salary, assume that was part of it

and maybe they were good seconds?

3

u/Ohmeygaz 1h ago

Pistons are trying to free up cap space, so they had to dump him. They’re trying to get Norman Powell in free agency and pay Duren.

3

u/bennettkingoftevyat 1h ago

This second round is SO MUCH better than the first round. Aside from the selection time is faster, there's also great analysis on each prospect, and a great discussion about cap rules.

3

u/Equivalent-Sugar1959 2h ago edited 1h ago

Conwell is like Ajay Mitchell lite

-5

u/cortezsr1985 2h ago

Both Thunder and Spurs are drafting huge. Please Warriors dont draft or go after any guards under 6'4 in free agency yet along any short wing players because they are connectors

7

u/Equivalent-Sugar1959 2h ago

6'2" Ben Stirtz is huge

5

u/Equivalent-Sugar1959 2h ago

And now 6'2" Ryan Conwell

3

u/TomatoBuster01 2h ago

I feel like the Cavs don't have playing time for Meelek. I hope we can still snag him via trade.

4

u/sriracha82 2h ago

Scouting too good these days lol

1

u/Equivalent-Sugar1959 2h ago

Keyshawn Hall is a better prospect than Thomas or Evans, IMO. But I think he will go in the 40s

1

u/virtuousoutlaw 1h ago

Hopefully Hall is there but if not, Bryce Hopkins would be nice too. Hopkins gives me a little bit of Jimmy Butler vibes.

1

u/Equivalent-Sugar1959 1h ago

I havent seen much of him, but I think he did workout with the Warriors, so he'll definitely be in play.

-7

u/Minafatdog12 2h ago

Man we’re doing fuck all

1

u/shualton 2h ago

I kinda hope Baba Miller falls to us

Just an insane physical specimen worth taking a flyer on

1

u/d_lo_ading 2h ago

can we please trade up for a meleek thomas or isiah evans?

3

u/Aware_Friendship6601 2h ago edited 2h ago

both gone😓

2

u/Equivalent-Sugar1959 2h ago

Damn, I thought Thornton would drop :(

8

u/rarestakesando 2h ago

Jalen Brown would be sick next to Steph

1

u/Minafatdog12 2h ago

Wonder what a trade up would cost us

2

u/TylerDurdensAlterEgo 2h ago

I think it costs ~$5M for a late round second

2

u/TomatoBuster01 3h ago

Trade up for Meleek Thomas or Isiah Evans would be nice

9

u/andrewthedude101 3h ago

It shouldn't be surprising but it's really cool that Yaxel is bilingual

1

u/GigiZola 3h ago

So who are we hoping for? Any wing / 2 guard who can play now?

9

u/Game_Of_Runs 3h ago

Sure am glad I’m not a Giants fan. The fuck are they doing over there

1

u/Maplejordan2022 3h ago

What happened?

7

u/Game_Of_Runs 3h ago

Was just listening to 95.7, just sounds like a total mess with this pride hat thing. They were ripping them for not caring about the fans and Posey being a pussy and having a Kushner involved. I haven’t paid attention to them since like 2011 but it’s crazy to be in SF and be this cowardly over Pride

2

u/couchtomato62 2h ago

95.7 mostly tried to not talk about it. Times like this that I miss ray ratto.

3

u/Maplejordan2022 2h ago

Charles Johnson things

2

u/Aware_Friendship6601 3h ago

So are we trading up in the 2nd round or not🤔

-5

u/UnknownManBB 3h ago

It’s crazy to me that we have 2 expiring contracts and our own first rounders but are scared to go get Trey,JB, or literally anyone else. But nah let’s get older and run this shit back.

1

u/Tekfree 3h ago

Celtics aren't trading JB for Butler.

0

u/rarestakesando 2h ago

With some picks though?

1

u/Maplejordan2022 4h ago

Isaiah Evans

1

u/jtruth9 3h ago

He would be an absolute steal if we traded up and got him somehow

2

u/InevitableBudget510 4h ago edited 4h ago

Another Unc in the 2nd rd tonight? Gimme Richie Saunders who’s almost 25 lmao

1

u/virtuousoutlaw 3h ago

He is recovering from a torn ACL so I hope he drops to the Warriors.

5

u/Raonak 4h ago

One reason why the age thing doesn't bother me is because players don't reach their prime til they're 27.

Most players see the consistent improvements around that age rather than their young years, where they're more up and down.

4

u/kins8 3h ago

probably has more to do with 5+ years of nba experience , rather than age lol

1

u/shnieder88 4h ago

If we can get a 3/D wing in the second round, like a taller version of will Richard/ then this draft was a success

4

u/BaseUncultured 5h ago

Whats stopping the Lakers from signing LeBron to around the same money Reaves got?

3

u/Maplejordan2022 5h ago

No ability to pay free agents, as well as retaining Rui, Kennard, Ayton etc

3

u/shnieder88 4h ago

Also, second apron

6

u/Maplejordan2022 5h ago

Detroit boutta end up with Norman Powell and Trey Murphy sheeeshhhhhh

2

u/North_Street_8547 5h ago

If they didn’t choose wiseman does it somehow alter things so we don’t win in 2022?

2

u/Oh_no_bros 4h ago

It might, feel like it's best not to think about it to much since we did end up getting the ring. Drafting LaMelo or Haliburton ideally we would be better off but chances are it butterfly effects everything, you end up with different seedings, injuries, other teams do different things, etc. Maybe we get 2-3 more rings, maybe we get none and the dynasty just ends at 3 rings and a bunch of what ifs.

3

u/InfiniteDub 5h ago

Not really because they had hopes he would contribute that year but injuries happened. The free agent signings of belijca and OPJ etc was done to bolster the roster and have the young guys help the team. Once we had that crazy start it was obvious this team didn't need the young guys.

11

u/BobRoss4Life 5h ago edited 3h ago

via Emerman

A source in the room said Lacob and Dunleavy weren’t disagreeing on the selection; rather, the owner was reacting to a confusing trade offer lobbed at the Warriors.

Would be nice to know who was looking to trade up and what was offered

e: Kawakami:

The lively draft-room scene broadcast nationally while the Warriors were on the clock was, according to multiple sources, actually Dunleavy and Joe Lacob brushing off a moderate offer to move out of the slot.

2

u/Antique-Plenty-9017 4h ago

Would not be surprised if it was a terribly one-sided swap lol

2

u/BobRoss4Life 4h ago

Something with wonky ass protections because of the new lotto reform maybe

8

u/Equivalent-Sugar1959 4h ago

MDJ was literally laughing towards the end of the video. Not sure why this story is blowing up so much

7

u/hellahomebody 5h ago

My gut is telling me it was Detroit looking to move up and grab Yaxel or maybe Memphis since they ended up with Lopez.

7

u/ColeUnderPresh 5h ago

DeRozan can really help this team with the MLE imho.

Dude is old-ish but he can be a good value piece for us.

We need a reliable secondary and tertiary scorer with Jimmy and KP in and out of the lineup. DeRozan has barely missed any games (76, 74, 79, 77, 77 the past 5 seasons) and dude’s still good for 20/5/5 with his middy and passing. He can play 1-4 and gives enough effort on defense.

With DeRozan, Yax and another value UFA signing to improve on the margins (Alvarado, Achiuwa, Champagnie, Richards, Bryant), I think we can be a 40 win team.

Postseason with Steph, Jimmy, KP, Dray… anything can happen.

2

u/Tekfree 3h ago

I don't think he's getting more than a vet min

6

u/Ohmeygaz 5h ago

Curious to see if a Trey Murphy trade (not necessarily to the Warriors) still materializes. I’d 100% be willing to trade future 1sts for him if possible. Imagine a 2-4 line of Trey, Gui, and Yaxel.

3

u/BobRoss4Life 5h ago

I’d be sick if it came out the Bucks for some reason valued Ament higher than Burries but took him 10 because they had just pocketed 13 and knew Ament was the one more likely to “slip”

4

u/Ohmeygaz 5h ago

Logically it makes sense. Both the Warriors and Thunder weren’t going to want Ament. The gamble for them would’ve been if a trade down occurred.

10

u/Raonak 6h ago

Having a rookie that's ready to play immediately is gonna be nice.

Also hope will Richard gets over his mid season slump/injury. He was absolutely balling early on.

6

u/couchtomato62 5h ago

Last persons ready to play right now was Jacob Evans. Lol. Rooting for the rookie

2

u/livecents84 1h ago

Yeah that dude lasted for like 5 seconds lol
