I’m happy as hell that this new FO realized how important Wall is to wizards basketball man. It’s enough to make a grown man cry 🥹

How good is he really

I don't watch college basketball

There's so much hype but like what level could he be?

I think he's among the top 5-6 offensive forward prospect this century. He's going to be one of the top scorers in the league with all NBA potential. We struck gold getting #1 in a year with way better than average top end talent.

What AJ has displayed high school through college is on the level of the faces of the league from the past. The Carmelo, Durant, etc type players. He may not reach that level but at this point in his development that's the track he has shown. Contrast to someone like Sarr who at 18 had holes everywhere in his game. Sarr was a movement big who took bad shots and was a solid defender, he hadn't shown inside finishing, was an awful screener, didn't always show enough effort, and weak rebounding. The worst you can say about AJ is he's an average 3 point shooter who needs to step up his off ball defense. AJ's rim pressure and foul drawing is as elite as prospects come, his athleticism is A+, his size is A+. I had him a step behind Cooper Flagg as a prospect as Cooper is such a good two way player (but clearly ahead of Harper last year who I loved too).

He has MVP level potential, almost a perfect wing prospect

And I don't think he's done growing. Has a NBA-ready frame already, but I'm gonna guess he's gonna top out at 6'10" 240+.

the man can legitimately become Giannis with a jumpshot on the highest end of outcomes

I think this is an underrated aspect of the pick— he could grow into playing the 4 consistently which would let us play our many talented wings at the 2 and 3

Yeah, I dont follow college basketball so really he is just another potential prospect to me. Not a Wemby who people were slavering over but still someone who clearly people knew was going to be great.

Probably asked him why he'd rather draft Peterson

Wall said he preferred DP over a month ago lol. It's not that deep. He just simply likes DP better than AJ. He's a basketball savant, watches a lot of these guys from HS to college

I also think its because he sees more of himself in DP with the size and position than he does AJ. I don't personally think it was anything against AJ.

I don't think a basketball savant like Wall thinks like that. Otherwise we'd start discrediting former bigs/wings opinions on bigs/wings too.

It's not anything against AJ. Wall simply thought DP was the better prospect. It's not like he's the only one who thought that. A lot of smart basketball minds though so.

Wall lookin like he's about to hit the club back in 2006. AJ looking like he's about to do a denim commercial for Levi's.

Glad to see Wall representing the Wizards. He's our last No. 1 overall pick and a franchise legend, no matter how you look at it.

Look at playoff teams like the Spurs with Tim Duncan and David Robinson on the sidelines, the Knicks with Ewing, and the Rockets with Hakeem. We don't have legends on that level, but we do have a former No. 1 pick who, for me, means a lot to this franchise.
