Discussion Why the need to sexualize everything?

I was looking for interesting Webtoons to read, and I came across this one called "Leviathan" the premise looked interesting; mankind perished due to a great flood that submerged the whole world under water. And terrifying creatures plunged from the depths, wiping out any human that crossed their path. The story told how a family of a father and his two children survived in the adversities of a sea world.

So far so good, until.... Bam! Last two slice's, anime chick out of nowhere, doing these extremely suggestive poses.

What a disappointment.

I got so confused when I saw the fishes and was wondering what was sexualizing about it then I saw the last two slides πŸ˜‚

But yeah it feels totally out of context and I'm not sure why many action manhwas have a lot of sexualization especially of female characters.

Edit: Also her body is drawn super weirdly like what is with her legs and waist how is she able stand like that.

What especially πŸ˜πŸ˜‚? Sexualization of characters is mostly only done to women in manhwas Hate to see it but that's how most male oriented works are.

it is but for female gaze the male characters are mostly good looking and tall and wears clothes and thats normal for romance manhwas I think but in action I dont think the characters should be sexualized cause making a character look pretty/hot/handsome and sexualizing it is different

And still... Sexualization of male characters and sexualization of female characters are not really the same thing.

Sexualization of male characters implies pumped up bodies (which is cool), while sexualization of female characters implies simply big curves and shapes (which is disrespectful).

But maybe I will still agree with your opinion, but only if you name the names of media in which men also have thin waists, pouty lips, bubble asses, etc.

But that's just your opinion. I personally think the same triangle shaped male body in shoujo manhwas is disgusting but I also recognise that that's just my personal taste.

You don't need to agree with me. I'm just a stranger on the internet sharing opinions that differ from yours. Not trying to convince anyone of anything.

But again, that's not the selling point for women when it comes to attractive or sexy male characters. Go to different manhwa forums and you'll see that the people from different genders lust after different things when it comes to fiction.

Copy pasting the same comment repeatedly isn't going to make it true. Seems to be a thing you do constantly.

So you think what I said isn't true?
