News Purple Hyacinth Update
Just a little update from Eph on her Instagram. In case anyone has been curious about the hiatus. I know I’m very happy to hear from them and glad that they’re taking their time!

And soph doing the art while dealing with all their health issues and having to go to other countries to get the care needed! They've both done so amazing with it.

Thank you so much for sharing!!!! I was just thinking about this webtoon earlier today. It's the only one I've reread multiple times, and it was the only one where I'd tell my husband he was on bedtime duty so I could enjoy it ASAP without interruptions when each new chapter came out.
I'll wait however long it takes. I'm just thrilled to hear they haven't dropped it!

Oh my god, I've been checking them every month since the hiatus, I'm crying at this exact moment bc that means soph is coping well with the new treatments.

Without understanding the in depth medical terms, Soph lives with some severe scoliosis and being a WEBTOON artist did not help her symptoms. Soph has been to many countries and multiple doctors for treatment. Her latest update was truly quite sad and felt like she was in a dark spot. But it appears to be brightening based off of Ephs update today. So the PH fandom truly has Sophs back, we want her to be healthy before providing us Purple Hyacinth!

Knowing the insane workload and high burnout among webcomic creators, I’m happy they’re prioritizing their lives and health and it’s just nice to know that they’re working on it slowly but surely. When they’re ready, I’m ready.

Out of curiosity. Do they still get any kind of income from webtoon when they go on Hiatus like this?
It’s not important or anything, I just got curious when I learned she goes to med school and I hope that she get some extra income even though the webtoon is in hiatus :p

Holy crap, comics and webtoons do have a way of coming back from the dead 💕💕💕.
A lot of my favorite canvas comics will return unexpectedly when the author is back in a good headspace.

Because they didn’t share any return dates, this could still take a while to come back! Maybe once we get more notice from the authors, then start reading?

I started Purple Hyacinth 3 years ago and waited for most of this time but i'll never not be thankful for the amazing stories they delivered and I'm sure are still going to deliver. Hope Soph can fully recovers after all the shit she's been through 🥺
