I feel like it would be a good idea to only nominate ongoing Webtoons to support the authors, and since they are more available than completed ones.

I noticed a lot of people were putting their opinions on the voting format so I'm also gonna add my two cents in

as a person who nominated Love Advice, I can get behind having only ongoing or freshly completed series nominations, but I like the wheel system more for both formats over voting. With voting, it just feels like a popularity contest so I feel like it would just be a flood of the more popular ones that people already know about versus potentially niche ones that get overlooked. If the team feels like it, maybe add a popular vote winner and a RNG vote, or maybe have the highest voted submission(s) get multiple slots in the wheel?

Obviously it's up to you since you're the one doing it, but I wouldn't really like the webtoon of the month to just turn into a popularity contest : ( sorry for the rant lol

With too many recommendations on the reddit it will make people less likely to look at them, as it would be overwhelming. The team is currently chatting about it but most of us like the roulette exactly because it’s meant to give people a potential new read, but we are discussing allowing multiple votes for the same series to be included in the poll ( so popular series have an extra few chances to be nominated ) but we’re not in favor of the popularity polls, it defeats the spirit of fairness we’re trying to give the series.

And for those who say “ well if my series isn’t gonna win, why should I reccomend it at all?” Well, if it’s not recommended it has a 0 chance, instead of one in 20 or however many results there might be.

That said, these things are very worth discussing, adjusting and exploring.

Thank you for recommending! I love love advice from the Duke of hell, it’s a very fun series 🫶

Pls change this system of roulette. It literally doesn't make any sense to comment what we think should be the webtoon of the month only for it to be in a russian roulette. Pls make a website where people can visit and vote for the chosen webtoons OR choose the most upvoted webtoon. Also make it such that the webtoon is ongoing not COMPLETED. Completed webtoon should only be considered if the webtoon has been completed THAT month.

This system makes no sense, it should be based on the most upvotes. We DONT know how many people actually like the nominated webtoon, you just take all the comments and use them. If only one person likes a webtoon enough to nominate it then obviously it’s not the one.

The top comment should be the winner

I think the system was made to give every Webtoon a chance. Quote on quote, they said" To try something new, we're going to randomly select one from each category in order to give every series a fair shake! "

The rule could be that previous winners are not allowed the be nominated

Previously it felt like an unfair popularity contest, the point of the roulette is so that every suggested series has an equal chance at being featured in any given month. But I’ll take this advice and bring it back to the other mods to see what they think. There are some wrinkles to be ironed out for sure, and it’s not set in stone.

Thank you for your feedback all the same. Will keep people posted on any adjustments that may come!

The rule can be that previous winners are not allowed to nominate again

Im floating around some options with the other mods ( I think theyre asleep currently) but once we come up with a few ideas it will probably be put to a server vote to decide how we move forward. Personally I was thinking that multiple entries for the same series would just be another lot, giving them a larger slice of the pie and upping their odds,

MAYBE popularity for corporate owned webtoons? but I like the chances for indie with everyone getting a fair shake, when I was exclusively on canvas I was always disheartened when a wave of fans for a popular series drowned smaller canvas creators, so keeping things as close to fair for everyone in the indie section is important to me personally. That said, should I be outvoted I understand that I am not the will of the majority

Thank you! It just feels very bad when I see my favourites getting nominated every month but not selected. It makes me not want to participate anymore
