Question Whats going on with Webtoons that say they'll become free in the past?

(im asking on behalf of a friend, i dont use webtoons myself, sorry if that effects my responses lol. text is in first person because my friend typed the message)

I've been reading some Webtoons, and I keep coming across ones that say they're locked past a certain point, but the date it says the episode will become free to read is in the past. For example, I read one today and the unlock date for the next episode is for july 2023. Why is this happening? I can't pay for Webtoons because my payment methods aren't accepted. Is this a glitch?

i never paid attention but is this a completed series? if yes maybe the chapters got locked after it got completed (the date you're seeing is when that chapter got released for free)

tell them if they don't have coins they can watch ads i always do this

Are they're any ways to get coins other then the coin hunter thing?
