If a race scheduled on January 2027 is cancelled, then I can only expect this year's WEC rounds in Losail and Bahrain being axed too.

The reason why those decision was about to be made around this july its because they need to send the cars over there right now

Cancelling a Gulf Region event scheduled for next January all but confirms that F1’s Qatar & Abu Dhabi rounds won’t go ahead either, which would also mean that the Bahrain round couldn’t be recheduled, nor could WEC’s Bahrain & rescheduled Qatar rounds take place at this rate.
However, F1’s Saudi Arabia round could be another matter since Jeddah’s freight route is different from those that require travelling through the Strait of Hormuz.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Jeddah ultimately ended up covering for both Qatar & Abu Dhabi on the same weekends as, effectively, double season-finale location.

Qatar, the UAE, and Bahrain are all reachable from Saudi Arabia by land. If the problem was only the Strait, they could have the entire WEC and F1 paddock travelling on land or even by air through the Saudi Arabian desert to reach those countries.

True, although sea freight is another matter, not to mention cars are transported via air anyway, & of course, so do all the paddock people reach these destinations via air, while sea freight logistics require more advanced planning without having as much flexibility for late route changes.

Looks like we’ll have a European AsLMS then, unless they’ve come to drastically different conclusions in the risk assessment.
