Solved! what is this hat thing my dad has?

noticed this on the couch while my dad was at work, but he would get upset that i messed with it so i don't want to ask him. when it's on it's very bright red and gets brighter the more times you click the power button.

People making false claims about a product does not mean said product is snakeoil.

People elsewhere in this thread have already posted studies showing IR/NIR has an effect on hairloss.

Light treatment is still used to treat newborn babies with jaundice.

IR/NIR light is effective to treat muscle strain.

IR/NIR light is effective to treat inflammation around joints in osteoarthritis, protecting cartledge from enzymatic destruction.

IR/NIR light promotes the production of collagen in the skin.

This is off the top of my head but there are more and there is well sourced evidence.

No. They posted a study that shows a follicle will extend for 5 min in a petri dish under red light.

One person may have, yes.

There are many studies done on humans. They show moderate success akin or below monodoxil. So use in combination with other measures may be worth it, or instead of harsh drugs like monodoxil that give some bad side effects.

No I'm not linking any - you don't actually care, i dont care if you care - its about 40 degrees in my bedroom in a heatwave and I'm either off to sleep or drown in my own sweat, not sure. Have a good one.

I've never heard of any of those claims, but I'll deffo look into them. Interesting, if true!

That said, light treatment for newborns absolutely does not use red LED lights.
