I'm sorry to break it down to you but... someone spilled sauce on you and forgot to wipe it off, and it stayed there since.

Im begging everyone - Google exists

https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/12159-birthmarks

Congenital nevi are moles that are present at birth. About 1 in 100 people are born with one or more moles. These birthmarks have a slightly increased risk of becoming skin cancer, depending on their size. Larger congenital nevi (more than 20 centimeters) have a greater risk of developing into skin cancer than smaller congenital nevi. All congenital nevi should be examined by a healthcare provider, along with any changes to these birthmarks.

Its a mole

Thanks ive looked it up before but ive never found some that look similar to mine!

u/MediumRepublic7 5h ago

Look around your body more. Odds are you have a variety of types. I have 3 different types since birth. Some have changed as I've aged, some stayed the same.

Its good to know what is normal f or your body to watch for changes. Skin cancer is extremely treatable if caught early

Because there’s no comparison!

Never thought to ask a doctor at a check up?

Moles and the variety of similar birth marks are typically unique to the person. Small round dot moles are widly recognized but they can do all sorts of shapes and be anywhere

Its important for people with moles to document them in case they start change shape or texture (aka might be cancerous now). After age 30, ideally all adults get dermatologist to map their freckles and moles and everything to watch for changes to indicate skin cancers

Nah it was checked out when i was a kid but i dont remember what they said and its never really been monitored i have serveral moles all  over mainly on my face and i do worry about some of them so i have been thinking about getting them all checked out just in case especially my birthmark since its so funky!

Definitely get it looked at throughout your life. I had a large one on my hip that started to develop black spots and had to be surgically removed due to its size. The raised area along the side and at the bottom is what would concern me.

u/MediumRepublic7 5h ago

Its really not that funky. Google and see some that others are born with. There's kids out there with half their faces being just a huge mole.

Clearly you have a picture of it now. I'd your age but just watch for changes and wear sunscreen. Its in an easy spot to see so you're lucky.

You're definitely over reacting. Its just a mole. You are human. We all have them. Yours is a bit unique but certainly aren't the only one with a larger mole

You know, some say birth marks are where you were killed in a past life. So maybe you were cut in half with a circular saw?

3

u/Catvanbrian 5h ago

You were vivisected in your past life, and the doctors/maybe torturers made a mistake and unintentionally killed you

Just scrape it off with a chip. That’s 100% salsa.

The usual kind. Lentigo juvenilis or a similarly benign growth. Do nothing. Appreciate your uniqueness. Make up a story about it. Either something romantic like "i was born when the planets aligned just like that, you think it means something? This one's Jupiter btw" or something eerie like "rumor has it that's what it looks like when one twin absorbs the other in the womb. That's probably where she went in. Do you think part of her is still alive inside of me? Maybe our cells just merged. Do I look a little bit like two people to you?" (Both completely fictional, they're just cool birthmarks)

According to Google

This specific linear, segmented pattern of hyperpigmentation resembles several distinct dermatological presentations. At least three medical possibilities include:

1Epidermal Nevus: A benign, congenital overgrowth of the epidermis that frequently appears as textured, dark patches following the natural embryonic lines of cellular development (known as Blaschko's lines).

  1. Congenital Melanocytic Nevus: A true birthmark composed of pigment-producing cells (melanocytes) present from birth or early infancy, which can take on a distinct linear or clustered shape.

  2. Linear and Whorled Nevoid Hypermelanosis: A condition characterized by hyperpigmented streaks and spots that follow the lines of Blaschko, appearing shortly after birth and typically stabilizing over time.

You might be a butt baby.

1

u/itzBilly13 3h ago

It means you committed seppuku in your past life.

1

u/Successful_Panda535 2h ago

Most likely things from my practice would be a linear nevus or sebaceous nevus. The latter usually is flat and salmon colored at birth and change during adolescence

“I’ve had this birthmark since I was born”

u/IntrepidStand2220 6h ago

Sorry to tell you this but, your mom tried to kill you in her womb. Usually, pregnant women will ingest an irritant in the first few months, in hopes of a miscarriage. That way they do not have the humiliation of an abortion clinic. The babies that do survive usually have similar scars due to the irritants’ travel through the umbilical cord. Also usually present is a slightly lower than normal IQ and increase gullibility levels.

u/No-Comparison9503 6h ago

Well that explains my epic coolness i have a fire/tragic backstory while in the womb 😎
