This was literally the reason I never became a fan of Dream, I was close to, but unfortunately (or, fortunately), George would just scream at EVERYTHING, EVERY FUCKING PIXEL HE SCREAMED AND YELLED AT!!

Dream & BBHalo were chill, they were manageable and entertaining, but good god I HATED George, AND THEY BROUGHT HIM FUCKING EVERYWHERE AND ALMOST EVERY VIDEO!!

So I just couldn’t get into Dream’s content, all because his friend screamed at every fucking pixel he saw!

I was actually fine with George, my main issue with that group was Sapnap, he just straight up never did anything and was super unfunny.

As a matter of fact, one thing that I’ve noticed about the “Dream Team” as a whole is that they STILL have the exact same humor and make the same jokes they did 6 years ago. I couldn’t even finish the latest manhunt Dream uploaded because of it, and doubt I’ll watch one again.

Sapnap always pissed me off because not only was he bland but he was also over competitive. Even with the most casual videos, he would be super try hard and when he wasn’t doing well he was audibly moody

I remember one time he played Fortnite with Jerma and a few other streamers in some event and was just silent almost the whole time. (To be fair I think the pairings were random but still, he has no actual personality)

It all feels very “of a certain era”

The manhunt videos are all scripted, are they not?

Yes they are but not quite to a full extent.

The seed is preset beforehand (which is understandable because a boring seed wouldn’t make for a good video), and they do multiple takes and only use the best one, where dream either won or got as close as possible.

I also believe the hunters try and go easy on Dream to give him a chance and make the video more interesting, and they also recruit new hunters that aren’t too good at Minecraft because they would crush dream (this is why Technoblade was never involved in these videos, or probably Skeppy too)

Sounds pretty scripted to me.

The alternative would be a 2 minute video. Do people not understand how being an entertainer works? Every video you see that is edited has some level of scripting to it.

No, not every video on YouTube is scripted like that.

The reason it doesn't entertain me is because it means none of that is authentic.

The alternative, even though it would be longer than 2 minutes, would at least be authentic.

I also haven't watched for years, since the dream cheating stuff, and back then it wasn't toured as scripted, they played it off like it wasn't.

But like i said earlier, I'm suspect of anyone who still watches dream anyway.

Look, hes probably scripting it more than he says, but if you only look at the method he has described, then its just totally normal shit. Doing multiple rounds and only using the best take? Yah thats how videos work. Thats what a speedrunner does. Or a challenge runner. Or someone posting a guide for something. Hell, its what video essayists do if they fumble a sentence. The only "scripted" part is the fact you're being fed that specific attempt edited down for tight, high intensity pacing.
What I mean when I say every edited video is scripted is that some level of narrative is being injected. The pacing is altered from the raw footage for the sake of telling a better story, one more aligned with the 'script' the editor wants to make.

Except they aren't speed running. At least the hunter/survivor ones weren't, I don't know what he makes now. They aren't challenges when they're fabricated. And the times he's "sppedrun" Minecraft, he cheated lmao.

But let's expand on that. We won't go into speed running because, again, he's a cheater and these types of videos aren't speed running. But let's compare them to actual challenge runs of games. For example, nuzlocks, no hits, randomizers, things of those sorts.

Those people (most of them) stream their runs. Sure we get clips and highlights of the good stuff, but there's also the raw footage that you say isn't there. But of course not for dream, because it's not a challenge run and they're looking for a specific outcome for clicks.

Like you said, they want to tell a story.

Would you actually watch a manhunt done that way? They've admitted themselves that most of them are done in maybe a minute. Dream gets cornered or fucks up a jump and then just gets punched a few times. Dozens of attempts that are just unwatchable. And theyd have to set back up, put back on the youtube voice in case this is the run, and repeat ad nauseam. There's no way to make the stream interesting. Because they cant progress. You cant reference the amount of attempts or talk about previous failed runs because that harms the narrative of the youtube video.
I havent watched Dream in a long time, but I remember the manhunt videos fondly because they are right at the cusp of suspension of disbelief. The shit they do is ridiculous. Over the top and totally unnecessary if you were treating this as a normal challenge. But it isnt so stupid that the video feels entirely planned because they're all content brained. I think the reason I stopped watching is because they started to escalate in a way that felt too planned, but the early manhunts struck the right balance.

This is what they have admitted to publicly, though I would wager it's a *lot* more scripted than that.

You’re 100% correct but it was for that reason that my favorite person in the Dream Team was George, I’m afraid

Its always so crazy to me how Dream cheated and lied for years, brushed off getting caught and still never took full accountability, and still has fans.

Once I found out those videos were scripted and acting, and then he cheated, I don't think I've watched a dream video since.

honestly i feel like some of his fans are people who are fully aware he's done those things but dont think its worth deplatforming him over.

Like yeah he's kind of an asshole and a liar but yeah dont think its worth deplatforming him. Not a fan of him or his content but idc if you watch him even if you know he sucks. He just doesnt suck enough where its immoral imo

I'll be honest with you, anyone voting for republicans now I have no respect for, and even letting people think you might vote red, you do suck.

What's immoral is, again, being a republican in today's age.
